I know it has probably been discussed before, but...

Warning: Rant

Dev1: so we removed almost all good maps and replaced them with garbage like paris, we messed up the mm, released a load of premiums and overbuffed a few tanks so they can be driven by dogs and still win. We ignored bugs and even turned a few of them into game features. We even removed cross team chat to isolate players even further. How can we possibly make the game more frustrating to play?

Dev2: what if we turned the garage UI into a miserable mess of full screen menus to go through?

Dev1: Promoted!

And then they had a vodka party.

I hate it. It looks nice, but it gives half the info, or none at all. Before you could easily see what tiers, tanks or nation the mission was locked to "if any" in second or two. Now you need to open the mission tab. Then find the mission and click on it, that opens a 2nd window with a new button, that opens a 3th window with a list of tanks you can use. And even then it takes a few to notice the "pattern".

same reason they changed skirmishes and CW and tournaments and a few other things. it was working fine, provided the info needed, and nobody complained about anything so they had to "fix" it.

The worst thing is that they've improved the website's mission UI in announcements.

So they know what works, and implemented something else.

Yupp, they destroyed the missions menu, - noticed here too...

Now we need a bunch of clicks to find out stuff about a single mission...

Earlier version was much clearer & better organized, all the missions were easily identifiable and viewable from a single list, with something around 2 clicks max, depending on level of detail wanted.

Hope they'll change it back to something better again in not too many patches from now...

I wholeheartedly agree that the current mission menu UI and usability is absolutely terrible now and un-intuitive.

Seems to me whoever designed it worked on UI designs for touchscreen devices.... as if it was someone that was working on WoT Blitz: "Lets use up the whole screen to display a few information".

I'm sure they think they know what they are doing when they make changes but from where I'm sitting it can be very confusing.

Took me a while to find out how I was doing on the T34-85M mission I knew I was completing each daily task but I didnt see a record of the tokens I had acquired took a bit of clicking but I found it.

The default is to hide missions you have completed

I can see that if someone works on a web design change for weeks perhaps months everything is clear  to them so they make the change and I stare at it and click on things and after a few days it kind of makes sense.

The original event calendar was good then they replaced it with a grey boring heap of garbage that was always updated late and told you next to nothing useful.

Meanwhile the NA site had a Single update a couple of days before one month ended announcing the basic details of all that months events it was bright and colourful and interesting.

Meanwhile EUs version was drab and boring.

Then there were the event announcements giving details of events coming the next day originally they used words to tell you, like X3 battle experience or 50% off Equipment.

These were replaced by icons now these were fine once you had seen them a few times but the fallout over the change led to popup descriptions to explain the icons.

Pretty much defeating the object.

There are now so many events running at the same time it makes sense to group them all in one place when you are in the game but do you have to be so sparing with the use of colour.

I have a 24 inch monitor and im running at 1920 x 1080 so some text is small and you cannot resize text easily in garage or battle without modding.

As a general rule it makes sense to use light coloured text on dark backgrounds and vice versa.

If I typed this post using yellow text it wouldn't be easy to read. If I typed this post using yellow text it wouldn't be easy to read.

See what I mean and often you do just this only its with dark background and dark ink.like this  dark background and dark ink.like this

Its completely crazy sometimes when I'm reading the info the only time I can read it without straining my eyesight is when I finish a mission and you do this Completed

Green seems to show up well on your chosen background colour.

Suggestion when you design something get someone who isn't a programmer or web designer just an ordinary mortal and see if they can instinctively understand the layout and navigate the page to find information.

Personal opinion, WG value hipster over useability.

Hey..they recently found out about multi window menus. We got rid of them in games long before they became a thing...back in 1999...

yeah, too many clicks needed.

While the design itself is kinda modern nowadays,

it is totally unintuitive and confusing.

They likely put a graphics designer in charge instead of a systems analyst. Pretty over functionality.

If they did then they might have got the depot to work on 720p resolution. :teethhappy:

To create the fake impression of progress while also confusing people. Stressed out customers are best.

I petition this thread is stickied so that WG get to see that their missions menu is borked every time they log in to the forums.
