I'm now playing a few tier 9 battles every day and it's not rare that both teams are filled with skilled players, i.e. more than 6 or 7 players with WN8 > 2000, plus occasionally 1 to 3 unicums.

They all play very good tanks, probably have good crews, know the maps well, etc...

I'm frustrated with those games.

These games feel like campfests, when someone makes a move, he dies quickly, especially when arty is involved.

Arty feels totally overpowered at tier 9 and 10.

I usually get good results if I keep my head down, concentrate on not getting hit and going with the flow, occasionally spotting something or taking an opportunity shot.

But it seems that this is what everyone is doing, and this is a VERY BORING playstyle, and often I cannot resist the urge to make a move, and then of course I get reckt by gold-spamming smartasses in their statpadder tanks.

Any suggestions of how to make gameplay more interesting?

Play lower tiers and leave the high tiers to the try-hards.

Fix tank balance, MM balance, premium ammo, [edited]TDs, [edited]arty, cheap one trick pony tanks. To be honest, when you point of the flaws, the game looks terrible.

Drink more beer  while playing ? Usually that's my last resort when I feel like I need some encouragement to play better

As strappster said perhaps drop a few tiers? I sure as hell would not be sticking on playing my only T9 tank if I'm not having fun.

Or if you want to be more active learn the maps, pay attention where their tanks are at and exploit sides that are vulnerable, which area can be approached from where, etc.

Low tiers aren't any better.

Play tier 8, get shat on by tier 9 and 10.

Play tier 7, get shat on by tier 8

Play tier 6, get shat on by tier 8

Play tier 5, get shat on by Cromwells, T67s, Type 64s

Play tier 4, get shat on by T67s, leFHs, Matildas, Luchs's, SU85b's

Play tier 3, get shat on by T-127 reroll platoons

Play tier 2, get shat on by Pz.II reroll platoons

I sometimes ask myself why do I even play this game, one day i'm having so much fun it cannot be described, and the next day I want to cry for ever finding out this game.

I find tier 9 the best and most balanced tier. if I had to choose one tier to play, it would be 9. ......but you do need to know the maps, enemy composition and your tank strengths to enjoy it

only tier 9 tank? lol.

I currently have RU251, E75, VK 45.02B, Leo Prot A, T-10. Doing a daily win in each.

E50 is on the buy list when I get my creds up, but currently I spent everything for discounted equipment and consumables.

Goal is tier 10 of course, the game forces me to get there to buy the super-duper equipment to remain competitive, although that sounds overly optimistic, as I'm not really competitive right now.

My only joy is to get well-armored tanks, so that players waste a lot of gold ammo on me...

If you play tiers 8+ don't try to play several tanks in succession. I am now playing my T-54 (the only tier 9/10 I currently own) and it's a lot easier to focus on just one high tier at a time. Also, by tier 9 you should have a fairly well trained crew with a good skill set. Mine is still a little green (not my original MT crew). For me it is actually easier to play tier 9 if I am not top tier...

actually, I play all levels from 3 through 9 when I have the time, I have a great time with:

III: Pz II G

IV: Stug III B, Luchs

V: Pz IV H, KV-1

VI: VK 30.01P, the AMX 12t was great too, but I sold it to advance to AMX 13 75

VII: I have fun Tiger I, but not always. AMX 13 75 will probably be fun once I finished the horrible module grind

VIII: I like the T25 Pilot, VK 100.01P, Rheinmetall-Borsig, IS-3 - all fine tanks

IX: headache.

I find no real incentive to rush to T10 when I play casually and with tanks I have fun in. Just because potentially my enemy has a bit of an edge due to those equipment doesn't bother me at all, I'll get there when I get there.

Perhaps the problem is you are forcing yourself to do something that is not enjoyable, you are not vastly worse off if you don't have the super-duper equipment if you play to the tank's best.

It's the same on WoWS. Top tier play is always too campy. I prefer 5-7

T9 is rather fun. But to much arty and T10 tanks can be frustrating.
I find T7 plenty of fun aswell.

Problem is also that playing lower tiers one gets shat on 80% of the time by higher tiers.

It's quite natural to feel an urge to put an end to this.

But it seems the road to tier 10 is boring gameplay.

I wouldn't call one trained skill and a second one at 70% "well trained". That would be my crews when reaching g tIX...

@ topic: The answer is pretty simple. Either git gudder or play a different tier.
