As you would see with no more than a cursory look at my stats im not the best!  Therefore i need all the help i can get. So i ask a question...how many of you would benefit if we were able to choose our gun AFTER the map has been revealed? Too often my gun is set only to find its not the best option for the battle to come. I know you all know what i mean so i wont bore you any further. Please be kind, its nice to be nice.

I should say that actually using the gun is more important than what type it is. Getting somewhere you can see targets and shooting them! :)

Problem with this it makes more unbalanced tank set ups:

Himmelsdorf: One team can pick a lot of Mauses, Godzillas and E3s while the other team has lack of this type of tanks.

edit: Maybe I misunderstand the gun part...can you write an example?

Please forgive me but i totally disagree. Why would you choose to go into a battle with a gun that is great at close quarters only to find that the battle map is best suited to long range fire. If we have the choice to use and purchase different combinations of gun/ammo, then it should give us the oppo to choose from those depending on the battle to come?

some guns for eg. for the stug and some other TDs, howitzer types, are devastating at close range but when the map is more open they become more than useless. i maybe generalising somewhat but i think this ability to choose a gun suitable for a particular map seems logical.

tbh there are usually only 1 good gun on a tank and 1-3 crappy guns

I dont mean change your tank. Once your tank is set its set! But all /most of our tanks have diff WEAPON options. Some suit certain scenarios better than others.

I politely disagree MASTErNAUT.

Now i understand.
It can be only useful in low tiers (1-5) and only a few tanks have howitzer as an option for gun.

Yes, but I'm sort of struggling with the concept of changing guns for particular maps. I think you may be trying to be too technical. You can adjust to some degree your gun's effectiveness by motoring around on the map. I think the game's more bang bang bang than "optimum conditions at all times".

There are only a few tanks which have optional guns, so being able to change the gun would be entirely pointless in the absolute vast majority of the matches you play.

I had a bright idea about mined areas (clearly marked) as a sort of "calculated random risk to gain advantage" thing. You might pass unscathed, or not, and it would limit speed traversing such a thing. It not original I guess, and was pooh-poohed. Now, where's that drawing-board....?

Though there are a few tanks where I swap guns occasionally most tanks I choose the best gun for my playstyle and never even consider changing it

Usually its a case of am I in a derp mood or not.

Really don't see the idea of selecting a gun based on the map, sometimes I regret the tank I'm in based on the map but not the gun.

I'm not sure about choosing a gun when you see what you are up against but I would like to be able to decide whether to use Premium Consumables in the 30 second battle countdown - I mean a 20,000 credit premium food consumable is potentially a good investment when you are a T8 tank in a T10 game, but if you are top tier and facing T7 & T6 tanks then it's probably wasted.

Most tanks in the game only have one viable gun.

Being able to change your equipment (for 10 gold each) during the 30 second countdown would be interesting though.
