I recently unlocked the Type 4 Heavy as I enjoyed the O-Ho. Overall the tank seems okay, but I always lose when I play it. The tank is so slow you have to pick 1 flank and stick to it, there's no running away, flanking or out-manoeuvring in this thing. It does well holding the flank that you commit to, but once the team starts crumbling you just can't do anything. It's too slow to re-position and it lacks the DPM to take on tanks by itself. It's a true support vehicles and dies quickly without teammates. Any advice for how to better influence the game or how to survive when the odds are against you?

Its a boring, slug. with a crappy derp gun compared to O-HO tier for tier. i simply try 1 daily then dont play it. mobility is key and this tank has none of it.

Problem is not the tank! To many brain dead players are online.

Yesterday i unlocked T28 ,i have 48% winratio with 2,6k avrage damage. And never stay back to snipe, cus with that armor i can be in frond line or second line. But still can't win.

I got my ace tanker on defeat with 1012 base exp. I hope it's just cursed tank, while i need some exp to get T95 and try there to win some more games.

Type 4 is currently bleh and will also be bleh; nothing really changes.

Those "nerfs" are not gonna change Type 5 much, either. The weakspots are still unviable for AP. Traverse speed nerf is understandable because when you factor terrain resists, Type 5 is more than 50% more agile than Maus, which is...dumb, but it shouldnt bring the performance down very much.

Though I hoped they just made the 14cm gun better. Or just do anything to have viable gun that doesnt need 100% gold spam.

It's worthless stock. As you can't even pen your own tank with AP, and hardly ever with gold either. The top AP gun will have 2 AP pen more then the weakspot they are gonna nerf next patch. So then you might be lucky. And due to the size you are screwed if you are outgunned or flanked. As it's a terrible multitasker. It's only viable in a bottleneck when they are up front. Derp gun "fixed" it. But IMO I would be more happy if they fixed the top gun first.

It's CHAIKA! I just finished watching that series! :D

It was awsum apart from the very predictable ending. It was almost as if they were on a tight schedule and couldn't extend it a few more episodes. Gaz died to easily IMO.

And the deal with Car manufacturer surnames is just keksimus maximus.

It is a broken tank, it can wreck in a brawl even vs tier 10 super heavies but its sluggish speed means its to slow to actually react to how a game pans out, its why although the type 4 is a monster Heavy vs Heavy I still prefer the E75 by a country mile.

Actually taught the stock Type 4 was one of the best stock grinds in the game, it has all the armour its going to have when fully upgraded and 230 pen + 450 alpha with an ok reload as a stock gun at tier 9.... is by no means a bad stock setup its basically a super slug more heavily armoured E75 in its stock form.....

As a rule.

A type 4 heavy cannot win a game.

Nor can a type 5 heavy. They are heavily team dependant tanks. If you are going to play them, make sure it is in a three man platoon.

It is a very situational tank.

The stock gun can do a great deal of damage when it penetrates, but it bounces a hell of a lot.  The derp gun, just like the Type 5 by the sounds of it, needs gold to be genuinely effective.  It also has a long reload time on both guns.

I've played 118 games in mine and, to be brutally honest, it's pretty crap.  It'll be sold the second I've researched the Type 5.

I think it's the worst tier 9 heavy out of those I've played (M103, WZ-111-4, ST-I, E75 and this).

To be honest, get the derp and set premium ammo as first choice.

Premium ammo - exactly the solution against OP’s tank and its older brother, type 5.

You get shot at with gold which lowers your chances, so use your gold to rise them back again.

So, its a case of "what you give is what you take" and we all come to a standstill.

Pretty much the only solution. And it makes WG happy.
