So,  I have been away from the game from quite some time and I have absolutely no idea on the equipment and crew skills I should pick to maximize the performance of this little toy.

How did you guys set up yours?

Can you not play a tank that isn't OP?

You'll be thankful when I am on your team then.

Also, I didn't knew it was OP.

Not that I care about it.

The MM is already infested with these easy to play/win tanks.  Adding another is screwing up tier 6 battles.

Personally I use Rammer, Vents, GLD. Usually I would like to run Optics but even with these the view range isn´t exactly great, and I dont think I stand still long enough for Binos to kick in. But it should be viable if you prefer it and maybe make bottom tier games a bit easier.

If I had no crew ready I´d start with gun related perks on gunner and driver, camo for rest. Then drop camo for sixth sense on commander, view range on radioman and safe storage on loader while training camo as second perk on all of them. On the third perk I´d drop for brothers in arms and train camo again.

While this tank hase some armor, I would probably not bother with repairs to soon... you won´t really sidescrape and if your repair kit is on cooldown while you get tracked, youre probably screwed anyways.

Ammo-wise, I´d take 5 HE shells because they´re really good on this tank, rest about 2/3 AP 1/3 APCR.

I didn;t play mine yet, But gonna set it up as the t 34-85, vents rammer optics.

As for skills i always get  camo with SS as first since i can't be bothered to retrain SS on those tiers and i am fairly sure when i get spotted.

LOL, it's not OP. Just shoot at it's turret instead of it's hull. Easy.

I am poor, cannot afford food, so probably I should choose the standard setup (GLD, Rammer, Vents).

Perfect setup is:
Vents / Rammer / Optics
1st Skill Bia (full)
2nd Skill Camo (full)
3rd Skill SixthSense, Snap, Smooth, Situational, Safe
4rd Recon, rest full Repair.

Food or Auto Fire, small rep, small med.
In this way you get maxim of your tank stats!

Even without it almost every medium in the game requires coated optics. The closer to maximum view range the better, ALWAYS. The spotting mechanics in this game are the key to winning any battle.

Vents, rammer, optics for me too. Especially at tier 6 where you meet players with bad crews I'd rather have extra viewrange rather than 10% better aimtime. 405m viewrange without extra crew skills or food is pretty good at that tier especially when you pick camo as your first skill on all the crewmembers except the commander.

Exactly. Even at tier X with food I still run optics instead of vents and the extra spotting power above 445m to negate camo is very much noticeable. I can often tell when enemy medium tanks run vents instead of optics because I spot them and force them to retreat when their sixth sense lights up, while I don't get spotted in return. Having more than the maximum viewrange and good camo is quite valuable, I have around 500 meters on my Leopard 1 along with 24% camo on the move and generally speaking only some light tanks can beat me in a vision game.

Rammer, Vents, Optics.

Or what theSwedishTankDriver said, that's a perfect setup if you can/want to use food. Buy food with 50% off and just use the view range to get assist damage to cover it.

Off-topic, but it's pretty hilarious reading people complain about improved equipment bought with bonds, and then also read people not using optics in their medium tanks :) Especially in lower tiers.

The best example was some Maus guy who complained about improved eq. and used spall liner, gld and vents in his Maus.

Vents + Rammer + Coated like pretty much any medium tank.

Vents are the de-facto choice when you can't mount a Vstab on a tank.
