Damage 307 - 513 says in chart. My max damage i have made with this tank is 65 direct hit. Newer have made damage with radius even when hit close that smokescreen hides tank. In that tier i don't think that any tank has so much armor. Is it a bug or funny joke from game makers. :)

Working as intended. Pen is 27 +-25%... Guns under 155mm do not splash, so near misses do nothing. I'm sure you can look up HE mechanics in the game wiki.

Stop clicking if tier II arty gameplay is too demanding...

getting 5th highest dmg on team with 1 hit in whole game with tank that cant get shot in return seems, if anything, op

 

also, seems like you have some l2p and l2u issues, also lol at playing wot in summer

Actually the forum standard is for all replays to be posted via WoTReplay links as this offers some security against malicious altering of the file header.

 

On topic:

 

How good is your crew? Are they even 100% main qualification? Do you have decent equipment (GLD, Rammer, Vents) in the vehicle?

 

Artillery has high dispersion, high aim times and fire HE ammo with low penetration. Low tier artillery have very limited splash radii and if you check the HE mechanics you will see that external detonations are heavily mitigated by armour and distance from blast center. In brief, being 1m away from blast center with 2m radius gives much more mitigation that being 1m away from blast center with 10m radius.

 

Also I would question if you should refer to Self Propelled Guns *spit* as Tanks.

307-513 is the damage done if the HE shell pen the armor (explodes inside). For all the other cases you have the following formula.

Actual damage = (DMG/2)*(distance reduction factor)-(armor*(1.1+spall_liner_coeff))

where: DMG is the damage chosen between 307 and 513 (in this case) divided by 2 because only half of the blast is pushing against the armor

            distant reduction factor take into account the splah radius and the distance between impact point and veicle (it's equal to 1 in direct hit);

            armor is the armor of the point where damage is dealt;

            spall liner coefficient is the percentage listed under spall liner divided by 100. For example heavy spall liner give 30% more protection so the coefficient is   0.3 . It's equal to 0 if the spall liner is not installed

For the calculation, the game chose the spot inside the blast radius that will cause more damage, that it's not necessarily the impact point. For example an HE shell to the base of a well armoured turret can splash on the hull roof, that is usually weak.

Guns under 150mm don't stun (unless they're the top gun on the CSP), they do have splash. It's just really small with a lot of fall-off.

Given that the replay shows a reload of roughly 33 seconds the crew is obviously not yet at 100% (the listed reload is 27 seconds)

 

Technically the G.Pz.Mk.IV is almost totally unsuitable for the tier it's in (targets are small and fast and the map selection for battle tier III and lower sucks). With the long reload and aim time not much better you need to pre-aim at the areas where the enemy will appear and stay there with your aim. You did switch between targets way too often and too fast.

 

As for why it didn't penetrate for full damage we can't tell from a single hit. With 27mm base pen it should still get through here and there.

 

Although seeing that you already have the Hummel in your gamer profile: why even still bother with the G.Pz.?
