This is a piece of crapwhich both teams camp and whoever dare to go and attack will lose 100% of the times so why it is not removed yet ?

It's the players that are the problem on this map, lemmingtrains galore.

Erlenberg is an essential component that WG uses to filter the bots from the just plain bad players. Bots are smart enough to not drown themselves.

It's a bad map, like most of them, but far from being the one that should get removed...

There's a possibility Erlenberg will be changing, being tested atm I believe

Supertest 9.20: Erlenberg Map Changes

Version 1Significant increased central urban area. Hopefully this will facilitate heavier tanks, and protect them from flanking attacks.Base areas also have been changed, in order to make them more difficult to reach. These areas were also changed to defenders have better positions to hold on the attack.

Version 2Bases have been moved, they will also be changed in Attack/Defence map.Spawn areas has been split to both sides of the river. This will allow better distribution of each team at the beginning of each battle, reducing time-wasted to move across. To reduce the “circular gameplay” on the map, the number of convenient places for defence and attack, on each side, have been increased.

So they are essentially turning it into a bigger mittengrad.

The only thing they need to do is to make the river shallow enough to be passable, with banks not too steep to prevent from climbing up to the shore, but with the river bed being deep enough to have many places providing cover from defenders on either side.

May I answer your question with asking another question?

Why do we still have Paris, Pilzen, Overlord, Arctic Region, Highway, Mountain Pass, Abbey, Stalingrad, Kharkov, Airfield, Windstorm (also commenly known as Shitstorm) in the game?

I might have missed some more but you get the picture.

Both sounds like stupid moves imo.

There is some video around about the changes. They are complety retarded. Thats about it.

They added their "Mapcorner sniping spot areas"™ things into them. So we we can expect the teams to now sit in the 4 corners, unflankable overpowered "sniper" spots. Wait a minute!?!?!... ... ... Does that sound like a characteristic of ALL the trash maps we have around these days?

Yes it does. While Erlenberg has some problems, there are a billion MUCH worse maps out there. Adding unflankable broken redline camping spots most certainly does not fix any problems but make them worse.

But its Wargaming its gonna be trash either way.

It's a nice map up to tier 6, then it rapidly becomes stupid. We have Big Ensk* for higher tiers so keep it like Widepark and restrict who sees it.

dont worry, wg is already making changes to the map, turning it into 2 corrridors, 1 corner peekaboo and 1 completely useless empty plain

Version 1 is straight up crazy talk. A few more houses in the center isn't going to change a thing, and better positions for defenders? As it is you can have several dumb-dumbs go castle side and die for nothing and still hold cap side with ease.

It's not the worst map in this game.

Maybe it needs a little re-work that's all...
