Trying to get it done for 140 and this is generally how games go:

I be aggressive, realise team is camping and unable to help or just won't help, die and then whether we win or lose it doesn't matter since I haven't done enough.

I do really well and we lose anyway and I don't get the +1.

Really need advice on this, it's driving me mad.

Another point, these all tier 10 games kinda suck, a lot of players play tier 10's so we aren't bottom tier any more and then when everyone's a tier 10 it's pretty much the same as being bottom tier. It'd be great if they'd keep it just for ranked games.

Are you asking for general tips on how to win more games? If so, there are plenty of articles, forum threads and youtube vids about that. If you can't find any - ask.

In general, 140 is about finding a good position and using your dpm to the max. Most of the time you can do 2-2.5k from one spot easily, then you move around and do more.

Yeah I guess I'm asking how to consistently do well, I have a problem with giving up if things go badly at the start, it's a bad habit I need to stop and 140 never really clicked for me. I only have a 49% winrate in it, I'm 52%, I have 59% in WZ-120 and I've tried to play the same with 140 but it doesn't seem to work.

be agressive - but don't give free hp to the enemy. WATCH YOUR MAP  if you are alone and noone is supporting your back  RUN AWAY. use the campers at your advantage by spotting for them or force them out by not spotting for them

vBAddict records you are doing similar average damage compared with other players, and that the 140 comes about halfway up the win rate list for medium tanks at tier X with 49.83%, which again means you are in the perfect average range. Nothing wrong with that, so I'd say you need to figure out how to take yourself higher by watching QB etc. on YouTube for tactical tips and game style. Interestingly you only have 2 games in the WZ-120 and have done far less damage than average, so I don't understand why you thought you were doing better, you know, 2 games............ But, the Obj. 140 is a respectable average tank looking at the player stats, so you at least know it's not the tank but your gameplay. To be honest I get frustrated with it as well and suck, but I don't have any patience and would rather just let it store a potato crew and collect dust in the garage, especially while it is Top of the Tree.

I too am trying to complete the Obj. 140 TotT.  It's the first time I've actually had the tier 10 so I'm quite keen to complete the mission.  I have 30 out of 50 top 10 victories so far (4 weeks to get 20 more - I'm on hols for last week of August).

Anyway my initial experience was similarly frustrating to yours.  I use the following strategies to improve my performance and reduce frustration.

Performance: mostly I am not aggressive enough.  It's very annoying to be on the winning team, especially if I survive to the end and DONT make the top 10.  Remember the important thing is XP not damage.  I've had games where I was 5th for damage but 11th for XP.  This is because I was a cowardly camper.  So the important thing is to get stuck in, especially if it's not a pure Tier 10 game.  If you are close to the action you will get spotting XP and if you track someone then you have team mates to damage them for you.  Also realise that you gun fires faster than most heavies so you can often take two shots (and pull into cover) for their one.  Realise that if you finish a game on Full HP then you haven't been aggressive  enough.  At the end of the game when you have 1500+ HP it's usually OK to pile into an enemy on 500-1000HP.  He will damage you (you may even die) but you will get the XP needed for your +1.  Note that one of the most important things is staying alive to the end game so don't be too aggressive early on.

Frustration.  I realised an unfortunate fact.  I have a win rate of ~50% and top 10 is 2/3rds of the team, so if my finish place was random I would be on the wining team 3 games out of 6 and top 10 2 out of those 6.  So I'm going to get a +1 every 3 games and 50 is going to take me 150 games (roughly).

I also use XVM, so at the start of each game I look at the number of green/blue and red/orange players on each team and make a judgement on whether we are going to win.  If we are going to WIN (i.e. our blues are going to massacre their reds) then it is important to be very aggressive.  It that situation your team mates are as much your competition as the opponents.  If we are going to LOSE then I accept it's one of the 3 out of 6 where this is inevitable.  In this situation I focus on playing cautious, staying alive and doing as much damage as I can (with standard ammo - no point in losing a fortune).

Hope this helps and good luck.

On your "Another point", all I can suggest is get used to it.  Playing same tier is not unfair, people pay money for the Valentine 2 for that MM feature.  The cost of often playing -1 or -2 games would be that Tier 8 and 9 would have to face a lot more tier 10s (i.e. more than 3) a lot more often.  Tier 10s gain is Tier 8s loss.

I personally have given up on the top of the tree missions. They cause just so much frustration.

Also, I have like 37% win rate on my Object 140, so... :D

I really think that the mods should sticky it near the top as it is a very good gameplay guide to winning.

This. I am not good enough for these missions to be worth worrying about.

It makes me smile to see a good player laugh about bad stats in one of their tanks.  Mine used to be similar but I've been trying to improve.

Interestingly (I had a look at my Tier 10 tank stats in vbaddicts) my IS7 win rate is lower than for my 140 but the IS7 WN8 is higher.  This confirms my belief that I've been too passive in the 140 in the past.

I know what you mean but in your case it really is that you just aren't experienced enough yet.  You don't have any Tier 10s yet and so the TotT Personal Reserve missions aren't (yet) available to you, whether you want to or not.

But the x1.5 crew XP is and that's worth it no matter what your skill level.

I fail at tier 10 meds and autoloaders. At tier 8 it seems +/- close to 50 (if memory serves right), tier 9 is close too.

But tier 10 is fatal error... Lots of people say that IS-4 is horrible tank but thats the ONLY tier 10 i have positive WR. ofc if i played it 50 matches in a row duno what would happen to its wr...

Well, nevermind, 7/7 losses today in 140 and I've given up on top of the tree, might even sell 140, the sight of it sickens me now.
