It has:

- Relevant armor

-More Dpm than god

-Mobility

-6 skill crew

-Ranked equipment

And it can 2 shot type 64s with HE..  I cant stop playing it

Sold it, already got two marks on the regular 34-85 which I prefer for some unknown reason.

DPM is nice, but it's not that much better than the regular tank and it seems way more sluggish.

The Rudy still remains the best of the bunch, thanks to it's awesome terrain reisstances.

Prefer the Crom B and Type 64 over it any day. Mobility wins them over for me.

It has armor, decent mobility, epic firepower and good camo/viewrange. It's not super OP but very strong for a free premium.

Compared it to my tier 8 CDC, and I'm sad to say it's much better in fighting tier 8 enemies...

Only downside is that the hp is about half.

It doesnt really have armour, still everything in it's tier can reliably penetrate it. I wouldn't consider getting the odd lucky RNG bounce as particularly well armoured. By that logic the tracks on all french vehicles are well armoured...

It's mobility is horrible compared to the other versions of the same tank.

It's view range is the same as the standard 34-85 (360m), as is it's camo, and neither of them are particularly good at hiding.

The only thing it has is DPM...

When angled the armor can reliably bounce a lot of tier 6 guns and lower. Also it has good pen AND alpha for its tier. It really is a good allround tank, the strongest they've ever given away for free I think.

Again, the pen and alpha are the same as the standard T-34-85 and the Rudy.

It still, IMO, only has DPM going for it.

To each their own. As I said, I prefer the standard T-34-85 since this game favours mobility. And I've already 2 marked that, can't be bothered to do another version :P

The hull armor is somewhat reliable against tier 6 and especially below, tier 4 and 5 can barely pen you. The turret can bounce tier 7-8 as well.

Maybe it's not the best tank but it's a very strong tank and they gave it away practically for free.

Absolutely, for a free tank it is certainly going to go down as a fans favourite. Not only was it completely free, it was easy to get too.

It is indeed very strong, i've always considered the T-34-85 a good tank anyway, the standard version if anything could do with a bit more DPM but they're all solid tanks. IMO better than the cromwells.

3 things I like about

1. It was free(always nice!)

2. It's a premium tank so can either

A.Grind credits much better than a non-premium tier6 making this an enjoyable and map friendly credit grinder

B.Shoot more gold without losing or making credits(when balanced correctly) when compared to non-premium

3. It has more DPM over the regular T34-85's top 85mm but lets not get carried away the regular T34-85 had poor DPM, the 85M has around 2k, is that OP? nope, the tier5 T34 has over 2.3k.. but it IS nice to have at least parity with many tanks you will face for a dpm brawl whereas the regular T34-85 would always come off second best in those 1vs1 dpm situations.. at least now you have a good chance

3 things I don't like about it.

1. As a premium, you are fixed to just one gun choice, I actually liked to mix up a few playstyle battles with the derp on the standard T34-85

2. Mobility is poor, noticeably poor imo, much inferior to the standard T34-85 to the point I find myself lagging behind and getting dropped by many other tanks which is annoying in the closing stages of a battle in which may have had a strong battle but miss out on those last few targets like arty and TDs while others soak up all that lovely damage and xp and ultimately credits!!.. sluggish to the point that you have to consider how it compares to HTs of tier6.

3. What you gain in the front plate armour you lose in the turret armour with weak cheeks and pronounced cupola.

I beat a Sherman Jumbo in a close quarters brawl yesterday sending that nice dpm through his machine gun port while he bounced his 75mm regular AP off my thick front plate refusing to aim at my own machine gun port or giant cupola but I was happy with that anyway, to see the thicker plate in effect vs an auto-aiming noob so when angle and vs average-poor pen guns it will definitely keep you alive in situations the standard T34-85 would not

Here's how the 85M compares... not OP at all

This thing has 2500 dpm with all equipement and crew and it's tier 6. How is that not OP? Many tier 8 meds don't have that much DPM. It's cleary OP. Another joke from WG.

Since all the most used tanks in the game, and all the preferrable tanks in the game by the standards of better players are highly mobile mediums or lightweight heavy tanks with good mobility, then how is that statement amusing to you?

Or perhaps you have something you feel this game favours more than high mobility. Then please, share it with the class.

Obviously armour is irrelevant since everyone will just double tap 2 and penetrate you anyway.

DPM in the vast majority of cases is irrelevant and usuable therefore the game cannot favour it.

These things helped me get my latest Radley for t28 prot.

So yeah, I'm growing rather fond of them too. It's been a long while since I've had this many top/mid tier games @ tier7-8. :)

Not only does 85M have great DPM, it also has great alpha.

It's clear WG gave them away to help bring tier 8 tanks more cannon fodder.
