If I am not wrong 23 out of 30 tanks in this battle are premium tanks !!!

Too many games like this, will this ever stop or should non premium players give up already?

Is that match up particularly bad then?

With tier 8 flooded with tier 8 premiums that are in most cases much better than their regular tiermates and players playing their tier 8 tanks to make silver it's no surprise...

Considering how expensive everything is right now and how nerfed the income is - what did you expect ?

I dont play normal tier 8 tanks anymore. The only reason i play that tier is to make silver - so i can play more tier 9 nd 10.

Tier 8 consists of 80% premium tanks. What do you expect?

you actually got nice MM, no tier 10s and no defenders, which is rare this days.

I don't really see an issue with this as long as they are balanced, and in that match up there are a lot of bad premiums. Not sure why you'd complain in a Panther 2 when facing T-34-3s, KV-5, T34, FV4202 etc. hardly like they are challenging foes.

We have an experienced playerbase, many players have the tanks they want, so unless they are grinding a particular new line (of which we only have 2 and they have been around for 6 months) AND they happen to be grinding it at the time, then there is not a lot of reason to play tier 8. So it is clearly going to be the main credit grinding tier.

Why would anyone with a Cent AX for example bother playing a Centurion? I think WG particularly makes tier 8 vehicles so there are not a lot of keepers, most of the tier 8 mediums are pretty meh for example, as are many of the heavy tanks and all have much stronger and more popular tier 9s that have limited MM.

IMO people won't stat pad on tier 8, there aren't many keepers there, tier 9 and 10 get limited MM and currently tier 8 has terrible MM so unless you were grinding a tank why would you play tier 8? Grinding credits seems the most obvious.

Also I think a good 6-7 tanks there could have easily been given to those players free.

I understand your point although some of the responders are clearly missing your point.

So to clarify for those people still grinding tier 8 vehicles it can indeed be challenging when not only confronted with higher tiers but also OP premium tier 8 tanks.  Unfortunately WG have understood the concept that makes people by their thousands purchase tier 8 tanks.  Yes make them competitive or in most cases completely over the top in their capabilities.

Will it change?  In the short term no but is it killing the gameplay yes.  Short term money making initiative that will have dire concepts for the game as people will probably give up grinding.

And then WG will buff the normal tier 8 tanks.

Then there will be newer and stronger premiums out.

The old gets obsolete. Buffed and new things enter.

Its the flow there has to be, to keep driving the game forward.

We can discuss the speed in which its done. :)

Well if that's his point, it's not very clear is it?

The example shows all the same tier and almost no OP premiums. To complain about higher tiers when the entire bout features only tier 8 makes me wonder what would have been said if there had been higher tiers present. As for OP premiums, there are so few to mention so, was it me that missed the point?

We all face higher tiers/OP tanks when we grind. It is the nature of this beast. You must start at the bottom (stock) and work up (elite) and even then, you may still be over tiered or simply over powered. Especially in a Panther II.

He goes on to say:

How would his situation have been any different to have faced a team of none premium tier 8's?

He's still up against it and in lot of cases, the none premium equivalent of that match up would be the equally as powerful if not superior anyway.

Players will still grind through tier 8. There's two tiers above it after all. They just won't stick around unless they are in their biggest money makers grinding credits (which I believe was already suggested).

A crap premium tank is a waste of money and just rots in your garage, a crap tech tree tier 8 you can free XP or power grind through and never have to play again.

WG clearly want people to play at higher tiers where you get the incentive of better tanks and better MM, but they are expensive to run, so to fund that many people get tier 8 premiums to grind their credits, thus WG makes money.

They wouldn't make if people stopped grinding at tier 8, hence they encourage you to push past that in the tech trees.
