- EMP would kill any modern tank anyway

and due to the heavy amount of steel and alloy, you will have better to nuke directly the tank...   Faraday wins.

Faraday effect works for a symetrical system. I'm not sure it would do anything on a tank ;)

Not really :/
EM shielding has been used for decades,so unless an EMP more powerful than anything previously recorded happenned to hit a modern tank,it would be fine.

True firing on the move was only part of British armored Calvary doctrine, as their ww2 tanks had guns that could be manually stabilized by the gunner literally aiming the cannon like a rifle (if you have ever wondered why British turrets had funny square holes where most tanks have mantles that's why) , but the french auto loader on those types of turrets could fire incredibly fast, yet they only held 6 shells in each revolver for a total of 12 shells and could not reload them under fire as the crew had to stop and get out of the tank

How "incredibly"? The only data I've found indicated that it fired a bit slower (or comparable to) than a human loader in sherman as long as he was using the turret ammo magazine (it was 4 or so shells, but frenchies had 12 overall, so...).
And the desing doesn't have any special features other than... simplicity. Yeah, oscillating turret really helped with making auto-loader simple.
AL is a nice thing, but I'm not really sure if it should give some super-ROF, especially considering that the true ROF of this tank was 12 shots per 10 minutes (12 shots in under 1 minute, and then 9 minutes reloading):D. That's probably slower than KV-2 with trained crew.
OK, I know I know, french tanks need a gimnick and super-fast backward speed isn't really what everyone  is looking for :)

- so EMP would kill only autoloader but left tank intact? :)

No. Electro-magnetic field powerful enough to kill human would tear tank made of metal apart.

No,the autoloader is a mechanical contraption controlled by electronics. The entire tank is shielded from electromagnetic interference. The electronics inside would be fine, and the mechanical parts would be left untouched. The myth that a single EMP can disable everything in the world has got to stop.Civilian electronics of lower importance would be affected, the rest is shielded.
IE:should an intentional one be used, your computer would fry, parts of your car would fry,but things like bank servers and military vehicles would not.

An EMP is not a magical superpower that cannot be stopped. It's a spike of energy of an electromagnetic field.Just like spikes of electrical current(short circuits),this phenomenom has been observed for decades, and we know how to manipulate it.I could go on into the physics of it,but it's a subject I didn't particularly like in school.

On old tank, could be, now (since 60's if I remember correctly) all western tank are shielded and this shield is partially due to the armoring. Argh, may english fail to explain exactly. part of the armor engineering is design to works as faraday cage.

- you dont have to explain that to me. I suggest you to read a coment that i quoted first. :)

I fully well expect this thing to get it's ass kicked by low tier tanks who accidently get into high tier match, but I do expect this to have the firepower and speed/acceleration to deal with the heavy stuff on the field if manouvred correctly.

I seriously hope that the devs take into account the fact that this thing can be killed by a pz3

Just for your information guys the Lorraine is T8 now and the chatillion T9...

oh god.. that thing is pure rape.. reaches 60kmh with no problem and can deal 1900dmg with on mag.. and turns like a t50-2  :D

First thing I did:
Raped a T54 like no tomorrow, before he was close enough he already had vaporised:

MFW

The oly real drawback is the mag.. once its out you'd better run and hide or your dead for sure...

Yaaay, yaaay, let's rejoice! All other meds are now useless, yaaay. Who needs balance in this game anyway? 1900 HP on 1 mag = E75 dead in 12,5s. Now this is what I call a good game. Panther II when gets to the flank can deal 660 damage maximum before being forced to hide, french invention can simply rape any T9 before repositioning.

Don't know what's the point of introducing a tank that is so OP only to nerf it into oblivion after 3 months...http://cdn-frm-eu.wa.../Smile_harp.gif

Its not that bad, pretty much all french tanks have no gun depression at all, T54 like down and not even up maybe 10 degree or so. So in bumpy terrain you are fucked.
You have no armor at all, which means even t5.. maybe even t4 tanks will penetrate you, and arty is your biggest horror, one shot and you are dead most of the time. On the test server it rocks because there are nearly no arty players.. on live with the bazillion arties around I bet frenchies will be the prime target of arties... even more then US tanks.

From left to right is stock -> fully upgrade.

And I missread the damage, with one mag you can deal 1800dmg. http://forum.worldof...mile_blinky.gif

The interesting fact is, that when you research all guns on the Lorraine, you instantly also have the top gun on the T9 medium.. seems WGs philosophy was to give the french tanks very early unlocks for there guns.

Patton gets penetrated by Pz IV too, Panther II also isn't really armored. Lack of armor is not an argument. They will take like 100-200 more damage from splash, but they have better HP pool. And can kill any T9 tank in 1 salvo if lucky. This is just ridicullous.

If I talk about getting penetrated, I mean everywhere from everything, P2 persh have decent turret armor and even decent side armor...

Wana see the armor stats of the lorrain:

hull 45/30/20
turret 40/40/25

If you get hit by arty you are dead,,, every arty in game does full damage, and splash damage isn't just 100-200 more try doubling that.. I get splashed by S51 for ~1000hp and even hummel does in the 600-800 range.

Try it before making any assumptions.. oh and so far I wasn't able to kill a T9 heavy on my own, the T54 was a nice kill because I shot him on fire and also hit his ammo rack and he combusted. The lack of gun depression makes it hard the get to close to tanks or you only can aim there turrets (especial on russians) and bounce...

OK, but it has 3 times the mobility Panther II has, so is much harder to hit.
It's nice it doesn't have gun depression because gun depression is the best thing ever (have 2,3 damage dealt to received ratio on my Sherman M4 - I'm only better with arty and SU-152 :D)
