All things considered, WH doesn't have enough tanks, actually.

Warhammer has a very lucrative licence, what makes you think WG will get a bite at that cherry?

Dunno if it is still accurate, but in the past, developers had to approach Games Workshop for a video game license.

So if still true, that would mean that WG would have to approach GW in order to make a game about it, and that sounds unlikely to me.

Also, Warhammer has only like 2-3 different tanks.

Warhammer 40,000, on the other hand.

if they can both make money why not, WG happy to licence to Sega and anyone else

and it might be really fun

Games-Workshop has a reputation of being very stingy and very demanding with their license, that is one thing.

Another thing - WH40k doesn't have enough tanks to make viable tech trees.

Even for the Imperium, and even if you consider the Horus Heresy designs, there is simply not enough to make tech trees that would actually be consistent.

And now try figuring out stuff for Eldar, that have basically 2 regular tanks, one or two superheavies and that is about it. Or Tau, that have only Hammerhead as far as proper tanks are concerned.

And there is another thing - WoT doesn't have multi-gun support, and most tanks in 40k have multiple weapons on them, often in sponsons or miniturrets.

Kek, Warhammer 40,000 not having enough tank designs.

Thing is, they got plenty of tank designs.

All roughly at the same tier, so making a tree would be hard.

As an example, there's the Leman Russ battle tank.

It has 10 known variants in terms of armament.

Some aimed at being an all-rounder, other specialised against tanks, infantry, fortifications, etc.

Of course, one could put an anti-infantry design at a lower tier, but the armour remains the same, leading to the possible issue of it being unable to damage itself (Pz2J syndrome).

Total War: Warhammer

Total War: Rome

Etc...
