Now that patch 9.20 is locked in in terms of content, it is time to look at what comes after 9.20!

We will be continuing our balancing efforts and keep you up to date with developments here.

Please remember that any and all information posted in this thread is subject to change.

Today we’re ready to share the first information about some upcoming changes.

This time we plan to test changes to vehicles in the alternative branch of British TDs: to the Supertest go the vehicles of Tiers VII, IX and X – Challenger, Conway and FV4005 Stage II. The vehicles will be updated in order to make them more competitive: they’ll get increased firepower and survivability due to improved mobility and better flexibility due to improved gun depression.

  • Challenger will receive a new gun with higher alpha-damage, which should change its gameplay to be in line with other British TD’s – being able to fire from positions with less maneuvering needed.
  • Conway will also get a new gun and more flexibility for causing damage due to an increase of gun depression to -10 degrees and an increase of the turret rotation angles. In addition, the speed will be increased.
  • FV4005 Stage II – the updates of the vehicle are similar to the previous vehicles: an increase of turret rotation angles and gun elevation angles, as well as increased mobility. The updates are intended make the FV4005 more competitive on the battlefield.

Please note that this is the first stage of testing these updated TDs, final characteristics might differ from the ones mentioned above. We’ll keep you updated with the changes that are being tested on Supertest – stay tuned!

Commanders,

We’re happy to share some more Supertest info: the British TDs will be tweaked in accordance to prior testing.

Fixes on British heavies - Tier VIII-IX vehicles

We’ve come to the decision of revising this branch’s top vehicles. While the tanks aren’t bad, we believe they lack diversity: the HT-8 was deeply removed from the general concept and the HT-10 was a technical improvisation of the developers – such a vehicle didn’t exist in reality.

For starters, we took the gameplay of the HT-9 – a moderately armored vehicle with a good gun and armored turret and “stretched” it to Tiers VIII-X, thus creating well-armored multipurpose heavies with excellent guns. We’re working on making the current HT-10 quite special, similar to the Foch (155), in case the changes will be released.

As for the HT-8 Caernarvon, its in-game role is currently a hybrid between a medium and heavy. Therefore, we plan on making it a real heavy, armored and armed with an “evil” gun. In order to do that, we’ll increase the vehicle’s protection and we’ll add a new 32 pounds caliber top gun.

As a compensation for increased survivability and firepower, the mobility and maneuverability parameters will be slightly decreased.

The British HT-9 Conqueror was used as a benchmark when changing the top branch. It’ll have significantly increased armor – making it a balanced heavy tank, one that’s able to take a punch and skillfully return it. As a trade-off, the improved armor will be balanced by a decrease in mobility and rate of fire during Supertest.

In other news, we’re ready to introduce a new British HT-10: Super Conqueror! It is now available on Supertest only, but we’ll be able to see it on the main server as well, later down the line.

How will you replace the HT-10?

The same as with French TD-10 – if the vehicle was in the garage at the time of the release, the FV215B will be transferred to special tanks.

Why change the tank?

FV215B is an excellent vehicle, but its game style is a bit too distinct, requiring some specific player skills and not corresponding to the principle of this vehicle branch research, due to the rear position of the turret.

What is Super Conqueror?

As we can tell from its name, the vehicle is similar to the HT-9, but slightly improved: more HP, better firepower parameters and excellent armor, even better than the one the HT-9 has.

And here is the next bit of news: The German premium Kanonenjagdpanzer, a tier VIII tank destroyer, is now armed with a new 105-mm gun with excellent characteristics.

While retaining its great mobility and small dimensions, it will receive increased firepower.

With these changes we hope to increase the Kanonenjagdpanzer's playability and competitiveness. Based on our test results, further changes might be made.

Today, we’ll discuss Tier X Light tanks!

While these vehicles are excellent at scouting as their main goal, their firepower doesn’t always allow them to affect battles on par with vehicles of different classes. Considering the test results, we intend to improve the balance settings of Light tanks by combining the role of a scout with the role of a fire support vehicle.

Here’s a closer look at the changes of all Tier X LTs:

Sheridan: In its current state, the tank doesn’t seem to be effective enough. Therefore, we plan to increase the alpha damage on its 105-mm gun, while keeping the same reload time. This will increase the vehicle’s damage per minute.

T-100 LT: While this tank perfectly copes with the role of “active spotter”, its firepower lacks compared to its peers. Therefore, the vehicle’s damage per minute will be improved.

Rhm. Panzerwagen: We will fix this tank’s characteristics to better fit the role of a sniper tank. The stabilization and aiming parameters will be improved – which will decrease the preparation time before a shot and increase the vehicle’s survival rate in battle. We will also be slightly decreasing the alpha damage on the gun, but increase its rate of fire in return. This will emphasize the role of the Rhm. Panzerwagen as a quick-firing sniper.

АМХ 13 105: French LTs are vehicles that generally intend to not only scout, but also cause damage. Therefore, we will increase the shell alpha damage in order to increase this vehicle’s fire effectiveness against other Tier X LTs.

Common change for all the vehicles: In order to boost the effectiveness of Light tanks throughout the whole battle, we’re increasing their ammo rack capacity (as Chinese vehicles don’t need more fixes, this is the only change that applies to them). This will allow LTs to cause damage even at the very end of a battle.

As we’re updating American Light tanks, we’ve decided to divide them into two branches - autoloader and non-autoloader.

This division was created for a more consistent in-game process – the Light tanks branch below Sheridan won’t have magazines, while magazine equipped LTs will be placed in the mixed branch below the T57 Heavy.

In order to achieve this, we’ll make slight changes to the nation’s tree and add a new tank to the no magazine branch.

Ok, the Challenger buff is definitely needed. I'm grinding through it at the moment and the current gun, while it has great DPM, just doesn't cut it anymore against OPefenders, OPatriots and OPMle49's etc. So it's good to see this thing getting a gun that actually has proper penetration.

Dont say that... we dont know DPM numbers yet. if they do it like they did other 20 pounders it will have sub 1.7-8k dpm with terrible soft stats.

The fv215b(183) line is even more crap, those slow tanks locked at 20kph with no good armor for their tier and low alpha damage guns... i am tired to play with 20 pounder at t8 and even t9 TD...  226pen and 230dmg on a stock tier 9 TD? really?

AT 15 should have at least Charioteer's 105mm L7 gun with better stats as top gun....i mean buff the gun for both... and Turtoise should start with the gun as standard....before unlocking 120mm L1A1

MrConway, can you please confirm for us what 180 means in the case of the FV4005 Stage II?

Does it mean 90 degrees to each side or does it mean fully traversible turret?

Fully traversible would be 360, surely.

Conway will be a beast with that gun depression as the gunmantlet is bouncy. Also finaly FV 4005 stage II get well deserved buffs, i would guess its the least played tier X tank in game in its current state.

Those changes do seem interesting but is there anything concerning the Poland Nation Vehicles?

I am almost certain they reveal it on Gamescom. They revealed Swedes in Gamescom 2016 and Czechs in Gamescorm 2015, so...
