Today I had two games in this map, and both times my team send 2-3 tanks straight to the cap. And they weren't trying to spot anything either, it was clear that they intended to ninja-cap. Did someone make a video about some über-cool new tactic or is this just coincidence?

What? I mean, today? Tomatoes always yolo cap on haluf for some unknown reason, which is wonderful. You can farm them all day.

The only issue in that is the long timer on the camp, but it will force fights at the choke points before you die.

Yes, it's the new black I guess. Never seen El hallouf won by cap in encounter mode, though.

It is a valid tactic.

P.S is it still a year 2012?

That's how encounter mode has always been.  That's why I have it turned off unless I'm doing cap/reset missions.

El Halluf encounter is pretty good otherwise. Best encounter map IMHO.

Depends on the kind of encounters you are interested in. Bad place to meet girls IMHO.

Close encounters of the third kind? :girl:

People try to cap in El Halluf, but mostly, it doesn't work well. You can do it with a fast light tank as long as the other team is focused on damage hunting, but otherwise it's always a battle of attrition.

I haven't seen it that often before, so I thought maybe something has changed. Guess I was just unlucky.

I agree that El Halluf is one of the best encounter maps out there. It's balanced and people usually play it reasonably well.

El Halluf is a shitty map with an enormous dead man's land, but at least it's much better than standard.

People capping probably don't want to brawl with the heavies, there's usually little else to do on other parts of the map. Little cover for LTs and extremely risky unless you have numerical superiority in the southeast - in which case you're likely going to lose the heavy flank.

I've actually had a lot of good battles on encounter, as the enemies tend to cap if they aren't sure they can win - in which case it's a simple matter of shooting them from the hills. :D

Hi!

Some time ago, El Halouf, encounter, south spawn. All my team went to the left, one TD covered middle, I was the only one spotting the middle. When realizing this I wrote in the chat:

"Umm, the flag is on the right."

Not that it helped. I simply let the other team cap. I just hope someone learned a lesson. :sceptic:

BR,  Iztok

WG should just open the south side of El Halluf more. Both sides could easily have more options for climbing from the bay area.

This, and the elevation differences don't need to be that big. Would make it easier for heavier tanks to move through the low ground as well.
