Ok so after 900 battles, im still yet to find a tank i really enjoy playing. I know a lot of it is down to 'getting better' at the game in general.

I know i dont enjoy turreted TD's.

So go ahead an post your suggestions for a fun to play, relatively simple tank line......thankyou

Soviet Is-7 and IS-4 lines are fun and friendly :) play till the kv 1 and from there learn the game, good tanks all round there

IS-7 line has good armor, speed and guns with the tie VIII standing a cut above all the other tier VIIIs

The IS-4 line is the line of the slow behemoths, great armor if you know how to abuse it, lacking in speed but the guns and armor make up for it mostly.

But as stated above the KV-1 is a good tier V to learn the basics of the game from a heavy tank standpoint (good armor, great gun. enough mobility)

ARL 44, just don't expose the sides. Tier 6 tank with a gun with over 200mm of pen on normal AP rounds.

Go down the lines where you have premium tanks ...

Churchill 3 -> Go down the IS7 and IS4 lines.

T34 -> Keep going down the T110E5 line (the T29 is possibly the best tier 7 heavy in the game).

T-54 FP & T-34-85M -> You're already at the T44 and the T54 and two tier 10s after that are all very good ... but you are still a relative novice, so don't rush these lines.

Dicker Max -> Grille 15.  Remember the DM has awesome gun depression so it's great on ridges.  You can also train crews for the Jg. Pz. E100 line, but they are brawlers and the DM is not.

Valentine 2 -> T110 LT . Go as far as the LTTB and then decide for yourself if you want to grind further.  With the Val2 make sure you fire premium shells.  It has a tier 2 gun but has special MM (never sees Tier 5).  With Ap it's dire, with APCR it's a lot of fun.

Also, if you want to complete the Personal missions to win goodies, the girls and the Stug IV then you'll also want an arty.

I recommend the American or French.  Ignore all the arty haters.  Playing arty will make you a better heavy/med player.  They're fun now and again.

One more suggestion for a noob line ... Jap Heavies.

The Czech line.

Start with Kolohousenka and stay with it.

Two of the recognized best trainers are the

  • KV-1
  • Churchill III

If you can make it with these, you can generally make it anywhere.

If you don't know what tanks you enjoy playing the American turreted TD line is a very solid choice until you do. You'll have great guns all around, choose a bush and shoot at what's spotted. If the bush doesn't pay-off next time the same map choose a different one. You'll do well in plenty of games and even if you're inactive (with regards to moving) you won't hurt your teams too much. As you see other tanks (in your teams and in the enemy teams) something / many things will spark your curiosity and you will try different lines.

But if you don't know what you want to play that line is usually very rewarding.

Also, don't buy the typically retarded advice that for new players the Russian heavy line is the best to go forwards. It's definitely not. Until you find what you want to do / what it is you should do in the game, the best enjoyment you or new players will take is from good / accurate guns, because new players spend a good amount of time in sniper mode just shooting at things.

Go Jap heavy. First 4 tiers are awful, but you will get through them quickly. Tier 5 and 6 OIexp and OI can bully other tanks. Fit durp HE gun to every tank afterwards. You don't have to aim for weakspots and can always do damage. You will be slow, with armour, so will have plenty of time to plan your moves. Ps fit spall liners. They aren't fashionable, but they will save you a lot of arty pain.

If you want to train your skills then choose medium/heavy turreted line first.

Don't choose TD's or arties first because it will force you to be more campy like player.

Meds and heavies are tanks which you have to master.

It's 300 alpha unless you fire APCR.

1. Wait until Object 252U comes on sale at christmas.

2. Defeat everyone because your tank is so horribly broken.

3.Profit enormously.
