So I was thinking about moving up the German TD tech tree, but which one? I like the grille 15 but at the same time, E100 would be a nice tank to have in your garage. So what do you think? Also if anyone knows about the repair costs to both tanks please comment.

Considering that many matches last only a few minutes nowadays, in heavily armoured Jp E100 you can survive longer when your team melts away, thus deal more damage and gain more from a loss.

On the flip side, the fighting will be over by the time you get there in the slower tank.  I say take the Grille, easier to fight and fall back in the Grille.*

*I do have the JPE100 but am grinding the Grille line at the moment...

I agree but also disagree, I have both and have been trying to do the Obj 260 TD-15 missions with them and OMG, the Grille is fast enough to bomb around and avoid those dang tier 9 and 10 lights not to mention you can follow the meds if you have to, but the JP on the other hand is MEGA slow and your team WILL leave you behind and alone thus your likely to be flanked and raped or so has been my experiences this last few weeks.

So it comes down to your playstyle, Grille is fast and paper thin dealing 750 average damage per shot fairly reliably but you will get picked apart quick if your not careful or the JP if you like 1 shot BOOM over 1000 damage waiting for that dang reload hoping your opponent wont have gold and know where to pen you and trying to keep your rear covered so arty dont get you and fast tanks dont flank you.

CONCLUSION: They are both fun Grille for the speed and JP for the BOOM effect but they are tier 10 and therefore OUCH when you lose, get killed and only managed 3,000 damage while NOT having a premium account

Glass cannon vs turretless Heavy.

They are so very different it's liking asking whether to grind a light or a heavy.  The answer is both.

The Grille line is all about staying hidden and sniping.  The Jp.Pz.E100 are heavy brawlers.

Pick your play style.

If want to have good games, pick grille.

If you want to have fun games, pick jpze100.

I have both, very very different playstyle plus you have to emotionally be prepared to drive that e100..

Well, the same goes for the Grille. Often, you have to be very patient in that thing, and many people aren't really willing to do that.

I've played both lines up to tier8 and I can say that the Grille 15 line has so far been a lot better. I like both in a way though, but non turreted td's are just... ... uhh... so ... clumsy and slow and ... don't have a turret!

Remember to save some ~70k free exp for St. Emil! You'll know why when you get there. ;)

Funny that, I recently rebought it after wasting all that free XP to bypass it a couple of years ago. You need to learn to appreciate its minus 15-degree gun depression and excellent penetration for tier 7. In a good hull-down position it will carry many a game for you.

The Jagdpanzer line is more about being able to play as kemp bush TDs and also as YOLO TDs due to the armor.
The Grille line is kemp bush exclusively as you drive cardboard boxes from tier 2 to 10. However, in the current matches you'd be better off with the Grille line as tiers 8, 9 and 10 have turrets.

Strv 103B is the mobile sniper now. Forget the Grille 15.

What I meant, is that when driving e100 to "wrong" flank and the match ends before you have done anything considerable, when fully aimed shot into that paper tank goes only critical with that reload, when that light appears from nowhere next to you, when arty wants to keep you perma-stunned..

With grille, yes it's paper, it's so much easier to avoid listed things above.

Jpze100 is more like, either you succeed well in it, or the game goes to trash bin. Not always, but usually. It's easier to keep consistent performance level in grille.

The "more fun tank to play" part is very subjective, so that one is really up to you.

From the pure performance standpoint I can tell you for sure that JagdPanzer E100 is horrible. Sure, armor and hp pool are nice, but not nice enough to offset low mobility and a bad gun, especially the gun, aim time and accuracy are not good enough for long range sniping, while at the same time long reload can prove to be a big disadvantage in close range combat.

Grille on the other hand has a really nice mobility and your turret allows you to fight at close combat if necessary. Gun also has a 2nd best accuracy and a decent reload, so the long range sniping is a lot easier compared to the jagdpanzer. The disadvantages of Grille are paper armor, low HP pool and a bad camo, which means you can die quickly if you get spotted at the wrong time. On a side note, I suck at playing Grille, I simply can't make that thing work without raging a lot, even with the old pre-nerf version. Another thing I'd like to mention, if you want to play a very mobile, sneaky, long range sniping TD, I would suggest you get Strv 103B over Grille (then again I could be biased a bit).

The free exp is for the top gun, not for Rhm. ;)

I thoroughly enjoyed my time with St. Emil after getting the top gun. But it's sort of a Jekyll & Hyde thing. With the stock gun it was plain horror and suffering. It's the second (and to this date the last/latest) time I ever used GOLD to free xp something in this game. The first time was Arl V39. What a waste of gold that was.
