...what is the point in them, if they are not used as part of MM logic ?

Surely, it could help to reduce the team wipes that seem the norm these days. They are boring (win or lose), combined with the lack of new maps...

You seem to have casually glossed over the issue of whether skill based matchmaking is desirable...

There are a lot of issues with skill based MM.

Also, kudos OP for disguising a MM thread so maybe the mods won't close it...

i see where you are coming from but this isn't necessarily about skill based MM, but using all the tools at your disposal to try and create the fairest match up

Rather than just use tank class and tier (and some other stuff i am sure), you could use the rating to even things up a little ?

By "even things up a bit" you mean even out the player skill on each team, which is the very definition of skill based matchmaking. So the issue is skill based matchmaking.

So using a player rating that tries to determine skill in the MM isnt skill based MM? Ok then...

How do you know it is not part of the mm calculations?

formula

where;

win – winrate (from 0 to 1)
surv – survival rate (from 0 to 1)
dmg – average damage per battle
bc – total amount of battles played
bc8.8 – amount of battles played from the point of patch 8.8 release
xp8.8 – average XP per battle (without premium account, from the point of patch 8.8 release)
radio8.8 – average damage done after your spotting (from the point of patch 8.8 release)
track8.8 – average damage done after you detracking the opponent (from the point of patch 8.8 release)

it was supposed to be a kind of measure of how good you are until the xvm team created WNx

personal rating is pointless yes. If you have a battle over of 30k, personal rating no longer changes.
