Hi folks,

its there any way to play a Tier 10 Light tank which makes same-tier mediums NOT the overall preferable pick?

Some background:

I always found light tanks to be the most interesting class (although not performing particularly well in them, being the average casual I am), but the 9.18 patch made the formerly phenomenal Ru 251 an utter pain for me to play -- and the current stats of the Rhm. Panzerwagen (and most likely any other T10 Light) tend to speak the same language.

At this point, I collected 80k XP on my Ru, originally planning to grind through the whole line.... but yeah, the issues are very well known, I guess. It's frustrating as hell, because I'd LOVE to have a reasonable T10 Light in my garage... or the game, at least.

Does the +10% camo directive maybe somehow perform a sudden miracle? And are T10 Lights even played in ranked matches? (cannot tell since I have no T10 tank yet)

And what are the chances for WG to get some common sense and roll back the ridiculous LT nerfs?

I'm puzzled, please help.

Step 1: send crew to barracks

Step 2: demount equipment of T10 LT

Step 3: sell your T10 LT

Step 4: grind Batchat (skip to step 6 if you already have it)

Step 5: buy Batchat

Step 6: ????

Step 7: Congratz, you have the best tier LT 10 in the game!

Shitty jokes aside, the tier 10 LTs are just sad and gimped. However, if you have to actually play them, for god sake avoid the Panzerwwagen, its apparently extremely bad even by LT standards.

Try to use the advantages LTs have over MTs (mobility, camo) as much as possible. Ofc, its not easy considering the maps we have these days.

There is no way to play them to  be mor effective than a medium tank, there are ways to play them to eb effective though.

Meh. Do you think WG will ever rebalance them? Since everyone I know and asked so far shared your opinion ("just sell em, they're garbage" ).

Just pick tier x med and imagine that it is a light tank and there you have it: just as effective as med. No need to thank.

My first and so far only tier X tank is the Rhm Pzw. I'm a light tank player and the Rhm Pzw is the worst experience I ever had in Wot. By far. I played 80 games in it when the Ranked started and it was pure torture. 43% winrate, if I recall correctly. Absolutely depressing. Cannon fodder. To answer your question: I don't know how to play it to be happy.

This x1000

This is what lights do!!

On a serious note, playing lights well is all about reading a map, if you have good map awareness you will do well in lights, even on a town map....lets take himmelsdorf, there is no point at all in scouting despite what your team mates may say, just fleet about the battlefield looking for opportunities to help a team mate, maybe its a 1v1 having a brawl, your 2 shots will make the difference in that brawl, maybe you see a push onto the train tracks, being there to help can be vital, and maybe keeping your team mate in the game. I cant emphasis enough, "read the map"...this is absolute key.

As for open maps, well this is where you excel, find the strong bushes if you plan to be passive, but make sure you have 360 degrees vision from that bushes and no other bushes infront are blocking your vision. the amount of scouts i see doing it all wrong is amazing, or maybe ride the ridge lines if you plan to actively scout, as safe as possible but giving as much vision as possible. i usually double take the R key and hold on for dear life lol.

Ageing Jedi did a good youtube video with the T100LT on stalingrad, i think, and that shows how to play a "town" map and play to a light tanks strengths, maybe have a watch of that, it could help..

Anyway, i really like the T100LT its the only tier 10 light i have and it seems good, even though ive only just got it (like 20 mins ago) and played it once. played it alot on the test server before i decided to grind for it.

P.S, i dont think that a tier 10 light has very good carry potential, not like a med or heavy, but it can influence the game in a different way, it carries from the start, not the end, if you get what i mean.

How to play them?

'W' makes them move forward

'S' makes them move backwards

'A' for left turning and 'D' for right turning.

With the mouse you aim and pew pew.

The only way to make tier 10 light tanks useful is to nerf view range in tier 9-10 meds and heavies. And we all know that isn't going to happen.

Thats not even going to help. That will only make lights more annoying , not more usefull.

To be usefull they need:

- better maps

- guns that can actually hurt someone

I have the WZ and 13 105 and the AMX is love at first sight.

Because I like the auto loaders. It is really effective in 3-5-7 pattern mm. But in full tier 10 games the LTs are mostly useless.

In SH I saw the T100 on some special maps but BC 25t is the universal LT.

Yeah, the amx is real fun to play and imo the best tier10 light.

Still do less dmg and spot than in my BC i played a year ago though :(

BC has more HP, bigger alpha and bigger clip size. You can kill more tanks with 1 clip. 13 105 is useful if you are able to use the shorter reloading time (~22-25 sec).

Now the t9 LTs are the most enjoyable LTs in the game. (ok, some t7 are also really effective)
