My little advice: never buy a Premium tank which has cannon with crap penetration value.

You will only struggle to penetrate higher tier tanks and you will be automatically "forced" to "spam" Premium ammo.

That's how WG's economy "works" in this game...

Go for VK.45.03 and good luck with it.

Got the VK on last weekend's discount and no regrets.

VK ...its way better the Tier 8 FCM 40T, cost far less too.  Play it like Tiger 2, very slow going uphill, but everything else are good.

The gun on the VK and the fact it can cope better with most the maps than the Tiger 1 make it a good purchase if you like that sort of gameplay.

The 112 has great armour frontally, and with premium rounds can be quite the bully with PMM but you may find the VK more versatile.

I got the VK last week in the discounts along with the M10 and I much prefer the VK...

M10 has no alpha, you don't want to be static plugging away at something.

Can't speak for the 112 as I don't own one but I do have an IS2 which I simply do not like playing as its 122mm is essentially a derp gun, I've sworn loudly at the screen many a time as the dispersion lets me down... The VK will not, it's accuracy is stunning coming from other mid tier tanks.

Oh and the Tiger 131 simply cannot compare to a VK, it's gun has no pen and you cannot bounce; you are screwed in a T8 game where as a VK can still compete in a T9 game. I only fear the Defender and the VK 100 as even g0ld doesn't pen them all that often...

Don't have the other one, but can strongly recommend the 112.  I'm a very average player and can raise my 50% win rate to 57% in this tank.

If you want to boost russian heavy crews i would go for the defender or Object 252 (same tank) hands down. Beast of a tank that can bounce T10 TD rounds and is OP

For american heavies you can choose between T34 and Chrysler K. If you are ok with using premiumammo, wich means reducing the income, The Chrysler K is the way to go. Its also OP

For german heavies its not that easy.

VK 4503 is a decent tank but it doesnt really exell in anything besides it being a decent sniper. It doest have the DPM of the Tiger 1 instead it have the DPM of the Tiger P but without the armor of the Tiger P.

It is better at sidescraping than Tiger 1 but the turret is weaker than that of the standard Tiger. Infact it can be penned by T6 mediums and T5 TDs reliably ... imo that is not acceptable.

The Löwe is also a decent tank with decent armor and it is good at sidescraping and has a good turret. Its mobility is ok and was recently buffed alongside the upper plate armor and its gundepression wich is 10°. Its gun has very good penetration and accuracy wich makes it easier to penetrate the OP tanks such as defender and Chrysler K (still not easy). Something the VK will defenetly struggle with. Granted the Löwe will see those tanks a bit more often but as a T7 heavy you will see them often enough anyway Its exellent premiumrounds with 294 penetration are effective against every single tank in the game. The main weakness of the Löwe is its low DPM of only 1600 stock and ~1900 with vents, gunrammer and stabilizer (my recommended loadout) Its Ammo cost around 1000 credits so if you yourself arent an accurate shot, this will reduce your income compared to the VK 4503 whose ammo is considerable cheaper at ~250 credits per shot

One other disadvantage is its considerable pricetag of ~43 €

Thirdly there are the two T6 premium Tigers. Tiger 131 and Tiger 217. Those are the tier for tier the best german heavies that can still be used to train crew as the OP Panzer B2 at T4 only has a crew of 4. BTW those 2 tanks are completely identical to each other statwise. Basically they a better version of the VK 3601 researchable T6 heavy tank because they get the Tiger armor one tier lower. Sidenote: I would go for the 217 because according to website tanks.gg its cupola on top of the tank is a bit smaller and better armored because of a significantly better angles.

Of course both of these have the disadvantage that they do not have the same premium factor for crew XP and credits compared to the 4503 or the Löwe but i think performancewise they are the best german premium heavy.

Overall i would choose the Löwe because it is imo better tier for tier than the VK 4503 and has T8 premium credits and crewbonus xp.

Generally i would advise you to take a look at tanks.gg and have a look at the armor models of tanks you have problems with when you face them on the battlefield.

VK4503 has also tier 8 premium tank credit bonus. It was buffed a few patches ago.

The VK cannot bounce either and meets tier 9 tanks. The Tiger 131, when angled at around 40 degrees, can actually pull off surprising bounces against equal and lower tiers. The problem with the VK is that its UFP is paper (135mm effective lol!), it's actually weaker than the LFP. And the turret is less than 120mm effective. You might get lucky and people might shoot your LFP out of habit.. But even some tier 5 will go through your UFP reliably.

It's a tank that looks like it has armor because it resembles the Tiger II but it actually doesn't. It's also slow.. A deadly combo. For the driver, that is.

EDIT: If you look at tanks.gg, the Tiger 131, when angled, actually has better armor than the VK. There's a flat patch of armor that is weak but the rest of the tank is around 140mm effective. The turret is also MUCH stronger and will even bounce higher tiers.

Yeah I had a frustrating few hours in the VK until I adapted and started trying to engage at max range as much as possible. Then I found more success.

Tiger is just confusing to angle as it starts without any angled armour unlike most stuff

Love my VK (I got it by trading in the ISU-122-44 a while back).

Haha.  I traded the the exact same tank for it.

I agree too.  No regrets about the trade.
