I know a lot of people (myself included) are frustrated by the SPGs. However, this doesn't necessarily illustrate the opinion of most of the playerbase, so I would be really interested to hear how people really think.

Some arty-free games today, maps are suddenly much larger, engagements are more fun, all is fine.

Arty should have been removed from the game long ago, it never achieved the goal to get rid of redline TDs anyway.

So, it's never been a necesary evil, it's always been an absolute stupidity.

It all depends. Arty can be very useful against camper TD's and spotters who peek out behind big (non-HD) rocks and can hold up an entire flank. They can be useful, if they choose to but.. in many battles the other team seems to have the useful arty picking out our tanks one by one while our arty.. does ****** all.

2 or 3 are completely messing up the match.

 

Sure is better than having 7 / side like it used to be. :coin:

2 per each side. Arty is needed to dig out tanks from hull down positions.

I completely agree. Instead of fixing too powerful hulldown positions or trying to play around them let's have 2 players on each team who randomly nuke everyone on both teams, sometimes even the troublesome hulldown tank. Let's have everyone who tries to play the game and gets spotted, get random ion cannon damage and stuns just because there are players playing hulldown tanks to their strengths. That's a great fix.

I voted for 4 but if possible I would vote for 'all of them' because if they are in my mind then they are not in the battle.

I think the arty number per team should depend on the game mode.

Maybe something like this:
* Ranked Battles: 0-1
* 30 vs 30 Battles: 0-2
* Clan Battles: 0-3

For randoms I'm not 100% sure.
But probably, for best experience/fun: 0-1.
But for shorter waiting times and easier arty grinding, perhaps 0-2.

The way it is now, 0-3 per team in randoms, is too much.

So over half don't want arty at all, yet WG is incapable of doing anything about this broken class.
