I have enough free experience to get either a Grille 15 or an IS7... what would the more experienced tankers suggest ?

Well.... I'm not more experienced... But you seem to be doing slightly better on Heavy tanks and I think IS-7 is scheduled for buffs, so you could go with that.

Grille 15 is less forgiving, though it would be my pick.

Just out of curiosity, though, how much free exp do you have?

stop botting and learn the game after you get at least twice as good as now you might seriosly think about getting a T10 tank

Don't get offended, I am not being salty but trying to advice you. :)

First: you are not ready to play at tier X. You will just be incapable to carry your own weight and cause the team to lose (you are rated "Bad" but just slightly above of "Very Bad", is ok you need to learn the game, it meant that you rushed through tiers)

Second: don't use the free exp because is useful for other grinds

If you want to go on, go for IS - 7, it is more n00b-friendly and probably you will be able to score 500 damage / match :girl:

Buy some tank at t6 and try learning the game first. If you buy either of those you just gonna ruin every game you're in for your teams.

Guys let's try to spend few more words, he is asking nicely after all. Shorts posts sound a little bitter, and he obviously has little experience of the game.

This way he would not get it as a personal offense :girl:

You want to dump your free xp in researching a tier 10 tank? I would not do that. Would be much better if you use that free xp to unlock modules (guns, tirrets, tracks, etc.) on stock tanks.

Between IS7 and Grille i would strongly recommend you get IS7, it is more forgiving to play.

Grille requires a good knowledge of the maps and a good situational awareness.

Unless you want to use it for red-line camping, for that it is good too..

That was too nice, IMO. You should consider taking it down a notch or two.

Like others already told you, you are not ready yet for high tiers.

I had two games today witch were lost precisely because of very weak players in high tiered tanks who had no idea what to do in tier X games. And oh my god, how we cursed them and reported them. It was crazy, the drama was quite nasty ( and myself also went bezerk, no point denying it, I was quite unpleasant).

You don`t want that, you don`t want to be at the receiving end of insults like that and you don`t want to have bad games in expensive high tier tanks because you don`t know what to do there. It really cannot be fun like that.

Stick to tier 6 for a while, improve yourself, then slowly move up the tiers. And keep the free XP for when you grind new tanks so you can unlock useful modules (tracks, turret, gun, engine ... don`t use free XP on radio) and thus never have to be forced to play stock tanks.

if you truly want to grind these two lines, better go for IS-7 line. Armor is a bit more forgiving with soviet heavies, rather than the Grille 15 line where there is no armor and every mistake is paid in loads of incoming HE shells towards you.

...

Good luck and please, do consider our advices. You did ask nicely, we are trying to help you here. :)

34% WR in the E100 after 47 games in it... I'm not sure getting another tier 10 tank is a good idea. With your performance I would not play anything above tier 6 until you actually learned how to play the game. Think of those 14 other guys you sentence to lose 66% of the time simply by playing a tier 10 tank.

I am being very lazy now and will just quote Shishx with a very good advice he gave just a few days ago to another player asking for help on the forums:

Regarding grinding:

- Save your free experience and use it wisely! Never use it to unlock a tank or useless equipment (Radio). Try to save free experience until you get to Tier 8 and 9 so you can quickly get the top gun. Stock grinds at those tiers are awful and can cause a lot of frustration.

- If you play heavies, go on YouTube and actually learn about sidescraping. That will save your butt on city maps a lot of times.

- Enlarge your minimap and pay attention to it throughout the game.

- Those 30 seconds before the game? Most important time in the battle where half of the game course can be predicted. Check the enemy lineup, try to anticipate where are they going to go and act accordingly. For example: Himmelsdorf and the enemy has a lot of heavies, it's going to be hard fighting in the center or in those long streets with little cover.

- When you shoot try to zoom out every once in a while. Tunnel vision is dreadful and fast tanks can easily sneak up on you and flank you. Pay attention to the minimap.

- Count the seconds of the enemy reload and trade wisely. If you see a nasty IS3 or some other heavy, you know they reload longer. You have HP to take 2 shots? You can return him 4 and maybe circle him? That's an okay trade.

- Bait shots. Going forward and reverse at the far ledge of an obstacle will trigger most players to shoot. You have enough time to poke out and give him one before returning to safety.

- Never YOLO. Just don't do it. It's stupid.

- Never go alone. If you see yourself with only one teammate and 4-5 enemy tanks on the opponsing side going your way. Retreat. You will get insults like: "Camper, Coward" but you get to shoot a few more shells before dying like a complete bot.

- Use premium ammo when needed. If you're in a 1on1 engagement with a heavily armored tank and you can't pen but you know you can with premium ammo. Don't be that whiner about premium ammo but just kill that guy and potentially win the game for your team. I don't mean spamming it though.

- Try to play sessions of 1-10 games. Your focus is going down the drain after each battle and taking breaks is vital. I usually play 1-5 then stop for a bit. Then play the same amount again.

- Stop playing if you see you're losing games too much (3-5 games in a row).

- Most importantly: Find your favorite tank and play similiar tanks. No point in forcing yourself and grinding tanks you don't actually enjoy playing. If you like the T67 and the whole forum tags you as a statpadder, so Fing what.

- Good luck!

Good luck.
