Been reading some threads that pretty much point to that direction:

  • TDs used as SPGs
  • TDs receiving the same hate as SPGs
  • TDs creating the same problems as SPGs

My first impression is that some of the arty bobs figured out TDs still deal more damage than their older artillery units, while losing less "benefits" due to the changes, which makes sense since, after SPGs, the Class that wreaks more havoc are TDs. Not just through high alpha but also more damage to modules.

At least on paper.

Plus they still get AP/APCR/HEAT and HESH in some cases. And there are some SPGs "branded" as TDs. Would explain the redline sniping, I used to see.

Your thoughts on it?

Nope, the new artillery is the new artillery and, although changed, it's just as *Edited broken as the old one.

On test, it's TDs everywhere which would tend to indicate that arty players have indeed moved to TDs.

Err. No. Not at all.

But that doesn't mean that TDs can have their own set of problems...

On test you have the new Chinese TDs which would tend to suggest people are trying them out.

Why are you asking? You think about stop being a clicker and become a bush camper?

No, TD's are just a little more present in game because of the FochB thing, STRV line being tott and Skorpion being discounted for some time.

Next month will be the heavy month, because heavy tott and FV heavy being replaced.

1. Have you seen TD.s shooting over mountains and hills? How the [edited] can you use a TD as a arty ??:amazed:

2.Not even close. Why hate TD's, we love to snuggle, track and flank them.

3. TD's are not creating any problem at all imo.

P.S.: How the [edited] you managed to have a higher WN8/eff in arty than in any normal tank??

Normal tanks are really that hard for you bro?

P.P.S.: Why do you not made a poll. That would show the general opinion better.

That would involve some arty players moving to the second or front line, where they might get hit by whatever they're shooting at......so that'll be a no no.

Swedish TD's Top of the Tree & players hurrying to get Foch 155 before 9.20 comes out so they can get a free "special tank". They also recently sold some more Skorpion G's, Strv S1 is still in the store and people might want to play their ISU-152 before it loses the BL-10. You don't have to be a psychic to be able to tell how that translates to the amount of TD's queuing to play.

Yes. Since the arty changes TDs have been gaining popularity which is logical. All the base sitting bots realized that they can no longer keep up the illusion of being a decent player by 1-shotting someone every 10 games so they moved to TDs. Just because artillery is now slightly less frustrating that doesn't mean it was the only broken things. TDs have been toxic for the gameplay for a very long time but they just have evaded the hate because there have been things even more broken. WG have always pampered camping subhumans and outright discouraged them from even trying to learn by giving them these obvious base camping platforms and creating some maps in which brainless mongol camping is a powerful play. WoT has always been kind of a special game in which lots of brainwashed people will tell you that "sniping", or rather brainless camping, is seen as some kind of advanced use of the "super difficult" vision mechanics of the game and when someone whined about a tank like ISU and its extremely unhealthy 750 alpha and 286 penetration at tier 8, there were always players who would tell the guy he just got outplayed by the guy who sat in base all game long behind some broken bush and clicked his mouse a few times. It was the same with arty really. There was always the 48% baddie with 40k battles who would tell the 60% player that he needs to learn how to play when he got artied.

Now we'll probably see the usual "I KNEW THIS WAS GONNA HAPPEN! AFTER ARTY GETS CHANGED PEOPLE WILL WHINE ABOUT TDS". Yes, I don't think any vehicle that sits in base and clicks it mouse a few times over the course of the battle while ignoring all the game mechanics and is a liability to his team, should be rewarded. Arty was the most broken thing in the game for a long time, but make no mistake - it was never the only broken thing.

For the average camper bot they're one and the same. Sit in base, click and try to avoid any situation that would require skill or tough decisions.

Although the chap that's poking city corners in his Skorpion G clearly didn't get that memo.

Nope. They're very far and between, even the new Foch isn't as played as expected, people probably realise fast it isn't an ownmobile for everybody.

I said "the average camper bot". There are exceptions. I play my Skorpion G like a medium. I play my armored TDs like heavies. However every day I witness top tier JP E100s, top tier T28 Prototypes and so forth camping the obvious retard corner of the map because "im td". When I see that the top tiers of my team are TDs I know I can expect them to be almost a non-factor and realize that it's probably a loss if the enemy gets heavies/mediums.

The reason why an exceptionally large % of the TD players camp is because TDs usually have the biggest guns in the entire game and it's a class lazy bots are naturally drawn into. Their mindset isn't "So my tank has a huge gun. How do I put it into use?" but "What kind of playing style is the easiest way to deal a couple of shots of damage without having to learn anything?" This is why I have come to expect that until given a reason to believe otherwise, any TD is a 48% bot.
