Go to the last couple minutes of the game and you will see that the count down keeps going even thi i am in the cap circle.

I always though that the cap stops when you enter your own cap, or is that only in encounter mod?

Prepare to get trolled (but yes, that only works in encounter mode)

He asked a question to something he didn't know, no rant, no accusations no trolling needed. (unfortunately)

Yeah, that's annoying. Should get changed so that decap-suicide is worth it more often.

Pro tip: if you are winning the cap race by a thread, do not attack anyone that is not an enemy capper or the graceperiod will be extended when there is a kill.

Killing someone extends the battle by 5 seconds (?)*, so if you've only got a short lead on the cap timer, killing someone could extend the battle long enough for the enemy team to cap, causing a draw

*after a cap circle has been capped

Being a dinger means he will only get trolled harder for it.

The real question now is - why do you ask about this with 40k battles under your belt? I mean no offense, but seriously - I thought it's one of those things that you learn in the first weeks of noobing playing the game.

I think the problem is I have just got use to the timer stopping in encounter mode.

When you know a thing or a fact that is actually taken for granted it happens that you may confuse yourself while "thinking" about it. Like typing a pin number on the numeric keyboard as a motion not as an number.  You would also bet on some facts you know for sure but your brain tricked you with flipping some shht cause it is a faulty ball of mashed substance running on low current.

I imagine you would not expect decapping like that in the game unless you confused the battle modes.

You even asked is it only in encounter. You got played bro. A classic example of a brainfart. :teethhappy:
