Block Quote

It was summer 2011 when I decided to create a site dedicated to visualising the games I'm playing in WoT. Since than, the site was growing and getting a reference for data you couldn't find anywhere else.

I'm not playing WoT for almost three years. For almost two years it feels like a burden to keep the site up. It requires a massive amount of time to keep up with the WoT updates. In the last months I didn't always had the time, required updates were delayed. Additional, but not decisive, the amount of donations and banner revenue are not even covering the server costs.

To make a long story short, I'm giving up with this. Site will be online at least few weeks. At the end of September vBAddict will be shut down.

Thanks for all the donators and for all the veterans keeping up with me and motivating me each day.

Will be sorely missed, but understandable decision.

Well considering he has not even played the game in 3 years, and still took time to host it. I'm amazed he did do it for that long. But when it costs more to keep it up and going, vs what he gets in. Well... it's understandable.

Completely understandable of course, especially when they weren't even playing the game. Good show. :honoring:

Completely understandable, however I wouldn't shut it down before I checked if anyone was willing to buy/take over the site, a site with that kind of traffic is worth a bit.

So sad. Great source of information. Keeping it alive by someone else would be great. WG itself should have supported that site imo.

Can't say that I really care that much, but dying fan-projects are always a sad thing.
The few times I used it, it offered a good amount of information.

Sad to see it quit. I have been using it every single day I play WoT for the past 3 years.

Shame to see this.
Wish I had the time and resources to put into keeping this alive.
It's something I wouldn't mind taking on. And given another 6-8 months, I could probably take it on.

I hope someone else can adopt it.

Sad to see it go.  How will this effect wn8 updates, and other sites that use data supplied by you?

I'm sorry, but I cannot call vbaddict "one of the best" by far given that far too many of their statistics are cherry-picked by a select few data uploaders.

I am not sorry to see it go, except for the dated heatmaps of the various maps/modes.

It was about more than just the global stats.  It wad there for detailed personal tracking first and foremost.

And anyone could send data. It wasn't cherry picked, which would imply that people were picked to pursue an agenda.

I'm still marvelling at the fact Marius kept a database, a sophisticated web site and a desktop client working and up-to-date for three years when he wasn't even playing the game.  He put an immense amount of work into his site, his back-end database(s) and his client (I'm a software developer, so perhaps I appreciate more than most how much he did) and as others have mentioned, it's completely understandable that he wants this bit of his life back.  I hope he finds somebody willing to take it over, but there can't be many developers with cash to burn who would be interested.  That's a shame as this is a tremendous resource.
