Anyone here tried Coated Optics + Binocular Telescope "combination" on light tanks?

Now I really want to try this "combination" on my M41 Bulldog.:)

According to stats, once I mount Binocular Telescope on my light tank, the total amount of "Spotting" points would be 912!

Now that's pretty crazy, but I don't know how it could work during the battle...

What's your opinions/suggestions about this?

I doubt it can be so high. Coated optic increase VR by 10%, binocular by 20%, so it's a 30% more VR.

400m+(400m*0.3)=520m

we can add also situational awareness and recon that add 5% more VR in total we get:

400+(400*0.35)=540m

Might not work according to this

Block Quote

Coated Optics

+10% View Range.

The bonus is applied at all times except when Binoculars are active, making this equipment better suited for aggressive and scouting players. Recommended for aggressive medium and light tanks, especially at high tiers.

They don't stack and if you think about it then it makes sense that they don't.

They don't stack. You either get 10% extra or 20% extra not 30% extra or 10% and then 20% on top of that.

Rammer, vstab and optics.

For pure passive spotting, go binocs, camo net and vents.

I tried, it's useless, you get binocs bonus only. :girl:

I'm using optics on most of  my LTs because that extra viewrange won't be useful when the rest of the team camps 300m behind you anyway. The further you see the further they are behind you and the earlier they run. And you are the idiot sitting in the bush with 0 assist.

My M41 Bulldog is "running" on this setup.

I will keep it as it is for now.

They don't stack, but it has it's pros. You still get a great spotting range while not moving and a pretty good one while moving - you are pure spotter that way. And with camo net you can both active and passive scout :honoring:

Seems nice and versatile.

Damn, now I really excited about this "combination"!

I still have some Gold, I guess I will try to "play" with equipment a little bit.;)

I use both in tanks like the Luchs that can't mount rammers or stabilizers. Wouldn't recommend it on anything that can mount a more sensible set-up though.

And just to confirm, they don't stack. When the binocs kick in, the optics go off-line.

Optics+Binos works nice for a dedicated vision scout as you get the benefit of optics while mobile and then extra deep vision when your binos kick in.

Binoculars and Optics do not stack. Still, it was my standard setup with the M18 Hellcat for many games.

I believe all other things than optics should stack with binos, however.

The view range skills alone are 5% (3 for Sit.Awareness and 2 for Recon), BiA and vents should each improve the view range by appr. 2,2% (effect of improving the crew skill by 5%). Voila, you're practically equal to optics already with a good crew (though at this point you're likely gonna take optics anyway).

(Not that binos are useless when providing values outside the maximum spotting distance, as it will 'break' enemy camo more effectively. 445m exactly will "only" let you spot a (firing) Maus at that distance.)
