When I was first playing Tiger I, I was very bad player (had like 700 wn8) I didn't use any equipment on it (like on most tanks back in a day) and I thought it was meant to be played like IS-3 (I was wrong) so I have bad stats on this tank. Now I have E100 and I have improved alot thanks to both E75 (I sold it to buy E100, and I regret it since it's one of the best tier 9s in game) and E100. I am very bad economist in world of tanks since I almost always have less than 1 million credits. I have probably lost more than 20 million credits in 900 battles in my E100 (I think it was worth it since I enjoyed it alot) alone. Now recently I have got some credits and my question is should I rebuy Tiger I and give it some love? Or should I keep saving credits for sth like T-10 (I have that tank unlocked for almost 2 years now) that I never bought because never had credits and the fact that it's probably one of the worst stock grinds in the game so I will have to spend alot of free xp. So what do you say guys? Is Tiger I worth rebuying or should I keep saving money?

It all boils down to asking yourself

A) Did you have fun playing it? Do you enjoy the style of gameplay it offers?

B) Are you only buying it back to have better numbers in a virtual tank game?

if you're planning to rebuy it to rebuild your stats, then it is totally not worth it. the moment you start caring about stats more than about gameplay itself is the moment you start hating the game.

if you enjoy playing E100 even when losing alot of credits, then it is more worth to spend the money on E100 instead.

you should only rebuy tanks if you really liked playing it, but sold it to progress further only to discover that the best tank in line was on lower tier.

If you like to play tanks just for fun, sure Tiger l was a fun tank for me too. So if you have a habit of having keepers that you actually play regularly, why not.

Btw, I didn't think T-10 stock grind was anything particularly bad since the BL-9 isn't that horrible. Off the top of my head at least Skoda T50 stock grind and ST-1 (if you've not unlocked BL-9 on IS-3) are way worse. Or Patton. Or M103.

I've played the Tiger 1 as my first tier 7 when I was a noob and managed to do a few shots of damage per game.
During the WZ-111 marathon I took the Tiger 1 out again for the kills. It was a blast to play and that 5.5s reload made almost a machinegun. It's a great tank with nice DPM, viewrange and HP.

Mind you, at the time there were no Japanese heavies, Defenders, Chryslers and the current matchmaking, so the 203 pen was enough. You might not enjoy it too much at the moment.

I'd say no. In current game meta Tiger meets too many tough opponents.

I've sold and then bought back the Tiger I more times than I can remember.  when I don't have one I feel bad that I'm missing one of the most iconic tanks in history.  When I buy it I feel bad because I just can't make it work.

I've thought about the Jap tiger as it's a tier lower but for some reason the fact that it will not have 'German' cammo stops me.

I'm now thinking about the 131 although I suspect I'll be rubbish in that too.

On another note I really love the T-10 and I play it in preference to my IS-7 so for me at least I didn't find the grind on the T-10 horrible.

Spend you silver on something new.

Don't go back to an old tank just because your stats in it are bad.

You have 700 games in your T34 (so I presume you have a good crew) and yet you've only gone as far as the T1 Heavy.

Go down that line.  The T29 is probably the best Tier 7 (certainly best Tier 7 heavy).  It's the tank I used to complete this months Heavy #6 mission/marathon.

If you want to stick with German heavies, I'd suggest going down the Maus line rather than going back to the Tiger 1.  You'll soon regret it.

Great tank to shoot in the face

Grind some credits, if you're not in a hurry wait for 30% off. If you don't like it sell for half price, not very expencive overall.

I never sold my Tiger 1, even when I switched to Tiger P for the next level grind. Good job because Im finding the Tiger P is awful compared to Tig1. The same gun doesn't seem able to hit a cowsarse with a banjo (with the same crew). Soon as I've unlocked the other T8 that crew is straight back into Tiger 1.

No, you should not.

To be fair, you should not be even playing this game. No one should. It is a waste of time.

this is because the gun might be the same, but the turret isn't. because of this your reload for example is also longer then on the Tiger I

Tiger is probably one of the worst heavies in the game currently.  I remember playing it when the game came out and it was ok but with current meta and all the new OP tanks on the field? No thank you.

Even HT6 and Tiger 131 being one tier lower are not that fun to play but maybe it is just me...

I'd say Tiger is pretty bad.

Good dpm but thats about it. Slow sluggish paper.

Get a t29 if you want a tier7 heavy.

Save your credits, either to fund E100 or for some better tank.

Tiger I is great, simple as that. I used it mainly for three things:

  • Farming credits, it's a 88 and they are pretty cheap at 252 cr per shell I think. 2000 damage is roughly 40k. Cheap repairs, cheap ammo, if you have bought consumables on sale, you'll make even more.
  • Training new crews, all my heavy and some medium crews have started as 75%enters in Tiger I. There is a good amount of xp to get at this tier, especially when bottom tier.
  • It's a Tiger, also 203 base pen is really nice and I have penned T110E5 with it frontally when tooning with tier 8's.

PS: this is a good credit potential for tier 7
