Sounds great. Back in the old days (early CW2.0) mightyjosHi put a lot effort in a similar thread in the German Clan-Forum. He doesnt seem to be too much into CW and clan-activity currently but who knows amiright? ;)

Personally I would love to help out where I can but sadly I lack all usefull skillz (like creativity, writing properly and stuff). :/

If it helps I could just provide sarcastic, non-constructive comments and drive everyone involved mad. :playing:

August 28th is set to start. However it seems the patch is set for August 30th which means 1 day suspension of GM.

That might still change but not too much.

Block Quote

To implement all the changes described above, we need more time. The start of the season will shift a bit, and with a confidence degree of 90% we can say that it will be August 28. The exact date will be announced a bit later.

Moreover, during the season, the Global Map will only be frozen for one day when game updates are released—other than that, the Map will always be available.

We really need to see how CW will kick off. If it's interesting, you'll have plenty to write about.

CS ARMY CLAN INTERVIEW

Website: http://www.csarmy.cz/

Position in Clan Ratings: 2

Active in tier 10 Clan Wars

Clan creation year: 2012

Interviewed person: sakalito (Executive Officer)

1. CSA is one of the first active clans in Clan Wars and it has been quite involved. What made CWs so interesting to you years ago (CW 1.0)?

Definitely the competition. Back then it was the only way to compare yourself to other clans.

2. What were the most important CW rules, settings and characteristics of the map layout that made competition possible?

Only a few provinces actually had a high income, so battles for them always had thrill. It was not even easy to reach borders with such provinces since landings were only on the coasts, as they are now. In the last few seasons, it wasn't always like that.

3. At a point, during CW 1.0, WG considered implementing a pay-to-win feature called "Subversions" which would allow you to remove chips from the enemy for gold, resulting in the enemy being able to use less tanks than you can in the battle. After fierce opposition, WG decided not to implement it. What do you think of such pay to win features?

Well, we are all lucky it was turned down. Otherwise the map would have died a long time ago and all clans would lose interest in it. When money makes you stronger in any aspect than someone else, it's wrong. In most games you can buy only skins and other visual stuff and I think for most games this policy works pretty fine. Some premium tanks added lately are already too much to handle for community.

4. A couple of years ago, WG announced CW 2.0 (https://worldoftanks...-first-details/). What was your impression when you saw the announcement?

Well they added a couple of new features like raising province income, spending influence points so you can land basically on any province you want. Both those things I would rate as bad, but probably the worst part was, when they divided the global map into tiers. Adding a tier 6 region on the global map was just bad. Those tanks are not capable of competitive gameplay. Tier 8 was discutable, but at least it has normal gameplay. Tier 8 global map is still on and with those OP premium tanks they introduced lately it just does not feel right. You can still use oldschool tanks like the T32, but the Patriot is better in every way and that is not okay.

5. WG started CW 2.0 with a few key features, like upgradable provinces, a tier 6, 8 and a tier 10 front, artillery strikes and air strikes. However, as the year progressed, More and more of those features disappeared again. Why do you think WG changed its mind again back then?

I almost forgot to mention the airstrikes and the artillery strikes. That was also a huge mistake. I remember when we killed 7 tanks just by using both strikes, fun right? At least it's not there anymore. I would like to see how things like this get into the game. Is there like some developer who thinks: "oh it would be great if we implemented some airstrikes that would absolutely smash tanks. It would improve player experience!" ? Well some things probably disappeared after player feedback. You don't want to make your customers angry, but let's be real: WG can consult changes with the community before implementing them into the game. They should talk to clans about changes like that.

6. It is normal that some clans fall apart while others rise in such a game. However, in the last year, the amount of clans falling apart was exceptionally high. Why do you think so many clans fell apart? And why did CSA not fall apart?

Usually it's about people quitting WoT. When you lose someone in the leadership who was willing to move your clan forward, it's not always so easy to find a replacement. Some clans can't handle losing streaks. CSA has a really strong core. Two season back we played on the global map with like 40 active players in the clan. Where most clans would just disband, we tried to rebuild it and it worked out.

7. During the last weeks, a document with ideas regarding CWs to WG was created and 250-300 clans signed it. As a result, WG decided to implement most of the proposed changes. What do you think of the current CW season (season 6) compared to the previous one?

This season looks alot like the old map. Landings only from the sea, no pathetic airstrikes, only a few provinces with high income. Those revolts still need some tweaking in my opinion, but it's ok. We did not play the previous season. It was the first season we decided not to play. If we have to spend our time on playing and managing Clan Wars daily, we expect sufficient rewards for doing so.

8. How should the revolt system change according to you?

I would start with removing the possibility to increase the unrest level on foreign land by using influence. Then I would consider if those revolts aren't too frequent since we have a revolt on each high-value province every 3 days.

9. Could you tell us something about what you (and maybe the clans around you) are doing on the global map right now?

We just conquered our 10th province today and finally estabilished some borders. Around us is pure chaos. Every day we have a new neighbor who is trying to attack us and plunder some of our land. Usually, we defend landings, riots and fight other opponents at the same time. That's a weird situation for us. There is no reason for us to expand any more because of the limit, so we are basically just defending now.

What's going on on the global map?

In the northeast, it's all game of thrones. Clans are mostly lone-wolving and fighting on multiple fronts. The most persistent clans in this region have been RGT, CRY-X, FORGE, A5AP, TR4P and 9-TDA. However, some shifts seem to be happening, as RGT and _RGT_ decided to make a new entrance from two landing zones and are now pushing together. FEAR made an entrance two days ago and now controls 4 provinces. Will this area remain a chaos, or will one or more clans gain the upperhand and stabilise the area? We will see in the future, but one thing is sure: until now, attempts at creating an alliance have stranded.

In the southeast, more interesting things are happening. Clans like 3V, 3V-A, L-FEW, EVOSQ, -WBZ-, and TAF-G have created a new alliance. They have even picked the same clan colours, which is currently a unique occurance on the t10 front. At the moment, this alliance seems to be fighting against FORGE, 5T4R5, and R1SE. Especially FORGE, 5T4R5 and R1SE have been in this area for a long time, so the question is if the balance will change. The last relatively big change of balance occurred when -WBZ-, 3V and K4E teamed up against AMEBY and removed them from this region. AMEBY was controlling provinces on both sides of the 21.00 and 22.00 CEST border and earning a substantial amount of gold.

OM and S4-X were planning on building an alliance in the center of the map from day 1. After joint-attacking RGT (which was in the center in the first two days), their way was free to follow their dreams. Currently, their alliance is established and its members are OM, S4-X, RMBLE, R1SE and RNG_M. Other friendlies are possibly USTOP,  REBLS and the G__G community. The east side of this alliance has been a chaos in the last few days. First, HAC-L and WPE were steadily holding provinces here. However, clans including REBLS and RNG_M have attacked the area. HAC-L is down to one province and WPE is down to 2 provinces. In the midst of the chaos VIVE1 and N00T have managed to make an entrance by using rioting provinces. It is unknown if they picked a side yet.

At the moment, this alliance doesn't seem to have a strong coordinated opposition. There are just some lone clans attacking them. EFE-X, which was friendly with the alliance and held multiple provinces, was surprise attacked (no backstab) by TRIGG, which led to EFE-X's removal from the map. TRIGG managed to quickly establish itsself on the map and continues to fight against R1SE. However, the alliance will probably not fall unless a coordinated group of clans successfully conduct an invasion on it.

In the southwest, the situation is rather stagnant. NOMI, GO-IN, FAME and CSA control most of the area. However, a bit to the south of this place, there has been some motion. ANIML, which was steadily controlling a part here, is being put under pressure by S1MP which recently made an entrance. The question is if the fight will continue and if yes: who will win.

The situation in the northwest has been more interesting. RSOP and MVPS seem to be battling each other in order to take the high value provinces. Both of these clans sometimes manage to gain the upper hand, however, the battle continues. Will the situation remain unchanged, or will one of the clans manage to claim victory?
