I know it is a repeated subject. Sorry about that. I just want to express my humble opinion about the "new" arty system.

I just feel SICK, disgusted, angry, and frustrated.

In case anyone asks : why i start talking about arty now ? Simply because I have been playing MT and LT for some time, and now I am in a heavy tank line.

Being again in a heavy, I just feel always hit by arties, way more often than before. Sometimes you face a quick-firing arty, or multiples arties aiming at you at the same time, the game play is just completely ruined. It already happened to me that, a mighty FV304 just keeps tracking me, again and again and again, until you die.

You just get hit more often, because arties fire more quickly and more accurately, and have bigger damage radius. Before 9.18, you got hit by an arty, and unfortunately a full penetration, ok garage, I would start a new game. Or the arty misses, everything goes fine. Now you are tracked, and stunned, and tracked and stunned again and again. Because you are stunned, you cannot fire precisely, you cannot run quickly; because you are tracked, you can get tracked again. Really an unfortunate experience.

Imagine, you are in a heavy tank, you find your self in an open map (Prokhorovka, WestField or something), and there are 3 enemy arties. You are doomed.

Or, you are in an arty, and the map is Himmelsdorf or even worse Wildpark. You are doomed.

Sometimes I got really angry about arty, so I start some games in one. Now I am the evil clicker. Never did I enjoy an arty game play. I do so for simply two reasons : retaliation and personal missions. But there is no fun - what a GAME should give you as experience.

There have been discussion on this subject. And there have been a vote, just after 9.18 release.

Most people suggest that the arty change was making the game play worse.

http://forum.worldof...changes-in-918/

Well I cannot expect WG to remove arties. It used to have its place, and there is no way back.

But How about adding a "no arty mode"?

If it is still impossible (well I do understand because arty does balance against things like JgPz E100 or Pz B2), how about adding an option for people to chose maximum arty number (1-3) ?

What do you think ?

Use the available reusable-in-game consumables, and perhaps change your play style a little, to keep up with the changes. If you post a replay or two, you may get some helpful advice.

Helpful advice for what?

How to not get shot by arty but still play and not camp behind biggest rock/house?

I wanna see that advice...

Arty is in fact PROMOTING CAMPING - not discouraging camping.

And yeah, it is sooo fun to be stunned almost all game.

Also god help you if you are in a low armored tank and you get hit by arty.

Are you  one of the people complaining recently that there are nowadays hardly ever 3 SPGs in a game, or were they other people?

1) That depends on the replay, doesn't it.

2) Use the reusable consumables intended for the job.

3) How is that different from before, in your own mind?

Edit: re (2), please post a replay or two of your being "stunned almost all game".

I actually prefer arty in game and i prefer option number one, even though I don't find playing arty that interactive, I prefer more action.

It definitely takes more thinking to play than your regular tank - you have to time your shots, time you aiming, guess what your opponent will do and it prevents camping. Altough it could use a bit less alpha and easier missions.

Thank you for your advice.

With all my respect, looks like you are a pure arty player (7k games and 99% in arty <= tier 6).

Reusable consumables recharges every 90 seconds. The 2nd time you got tracked, and if a quick firing arty catches you (like Bishop or FV304), you just cannot repair the track before you get tracked again.

I consider my self enough "arty preventive". But the thing is, sometimes you don't have that 6th sense. And sometimes you have to take the risk to take advantageous locations.

Off topic.

But I agree with you. These OP premiums just unbalance the game. AMX 13 57GF, Pz. B2, Defender, E25, ...

New arty is way too deadly for lightly armored tanks, while big guys can take a beating, new laser accurate fags really hurt those soft fellas.

But i don't think WG will ever remove arty, maybe when game eventually dies they will introduce this idea. But,

Dare i say it but arty has never been an issue for me before or after the change and sure they can be annoying at times but ah well its just a game and can always move on to the next battle, no biggie but i also dont tend to dwell on such things or over react like most seem to do.

max range on SPG shells should be 445m AP with 300dmg and 10mm of pen so you can only pen if you overmatch tops of tanks this is how i would i balance it

WG's reasoning is that if they remove arty (which they actually contemplated to do on several occasions mind you) there will always be 'the next problem'.

Playing every night on the test server, TDs would probably be 'the next problem', games with no heavies, no mediums and only TDs, lights and arties are common there (I can provide screenshots!)

You will always have active and passive players.

WG can't shut the door to either category, or they'll lose customers.

If they remove arty, which they should do, passive players will flock to TDs and they will have to deal with anti-TD whining.

Of course, if they hadn't given TDs laser accuracy, Klingon stealth or nuclear damage, it wouldn't be that bad.

Playing against 8 TDs of which half can take 2/3 of your hitpoints in less time it takes to say it is not exactly promoting dynamic gameplay.

Get in here before this thread is removed by mods

i'm tempted to say remove them but if I cant have that then remove their satellite view or at least remove the tanks from it. Let them guess or force your team to actively communicate with them. Some thing "like left a bit" , "that was 50m too far" or something like that.

I would also request a really good look at the physics related to splash damage. I've seen and have been on the end of splash damage that logically shouldn't have been possible. Tucked in behind a building for example. BOOOM, makes no difference.

Currently there is nowhere safe from arty. Arty discourages camping.

Hi!

> What would you suggest to change Arty

  1. Remove tier 9 and 10 arty.
  2. Decrease high tier pen even more (20 mm max) and decrease damage to 1500 max and decrease module & crew damage to max 2 per hit.
  3. Increase arty RoF by 20% (min 3 shells per minute) and increase accuracy by 20%.

BR,  Iztok
