I know, I know, there were many topics about this some time ago...

But basically I think people would like to have some sort of offline mode (maybe even with it's own map) where they could practice with the new tanks against dummies, for example. I think that would also be helpful to those who want to improve a bit, maybe even determine some weakspots of the tanks and so on; although a "dummy placement" system would also be needed... Full bot system would also be better...

Anyway, Offline mode - yay or nay?

(P.S. also added 2 more questions - just for interest, since I know WG don't read EU forums...)

EDIT: To explain 3rd question properly:
1) Current maps - self-explanatory.

2) New Special map - completely new map, just for Offline mode with various map parts (like small hills, city, open area with some buildings etc.) where you could try various different things like gun depression, gun handling, proper enemy approach and so on.
3) and 4) are self-explanatory also.

5) Experimental tank support - we all know there are some hidden tanks in the game files already (like the Chieftain Mk.6, for example), so for example we could try them out in this "offline mode" to see what they are capable of, currently.
6), 7) and 8) are self explanatory, but the only thing is 7) and 8) can't be used at the same time. Could be as an option, though...

Sometimes I think that I am playing with bots offline already.

Do you mean really offline, or just singleplayer / PvE?

A real offline mode (= no internet connection) has no chance of happening. As for PvE mode, well, the new tutorial was a start that could be expanded (a lot).

Online PVE as proven by AW sucks.

You are normally playing with bots against bots. It's completely pointless. You will not improve even one iota this way.

There is no room, nor a need, for a single player campaign mode.

Edit: Last question is biased. I answered No to questions 1 and 2 and there is no "I don't care" answer to the last question.

will be just great and usefull

new players can learn in offline mode, all players can still play wot even when they have internet troubles, and it simply an option when MMs are too annoying.

i would like to see some scenarios here with some missions and REWARDS of course !...just like historical battles where doesnt matter if tigers will meet shermans as enemys (because shermans will be BOTS)...so this mode will be a big improvement for wot !

Do you even understand what "offline" means?

The game's calculations are done serverside. For the game to work it has to have an online connection.

Only thing I'd use it for would be to try out new areas on maps without having to have a friend for a training room.

I couldn't vote since neither of the options under "What do you think offline mode would need if it would be implemented?" is an valid answer for me. If you implement an offline mode you would basically have to make huge changes to the games basic functionality due to the fact that all calculations are done server side.

There is a huge difference between making a PvE mode and an offline mode, a PvE mode just needs some decent coding for bots, perhaps some missions and voila your done, to make an online only game offline require quite extensive work.

Issue is that as of now, your client has nothing to calculate anything for offline play. As movement, damage, shell travel, terrain hitbox, tank hitbox is done server side. So there is a ton of info that needs to go on your client to get that to work for offline. Info I suspect WG don't want you to explore. Not because they have something to hide. But we all know that would be used to find exploits more then anything. Like finding a gap in the hitbox between 2 buildings that you don't see in the textures etc. Just to name one.

Yeah i would play it and not even touch the so called PVP mode ever again , rather play with and against bots than with THINGS that we call HUMAN in this game that have 50k battles and 500 wn8 and can't even do more than 500 damage in a maus.

Improved training grounds would indeed be great.

Not offline since that's not possible. But yes if it was, it doesn't really matter.

At the moment, I test stuff with my son when the test server is up so we can test any tank/situation we want.

Having a permanent opportunity to do so would be great, definitely.

By this question, I assume you mean something like the "Test Drive"/"Test flight" options we have in Warthunder, Right?

I wouldn't mind being a sherman in that situation actually
