morning guys,

I was just wondering how many battles people had under their belt when they earned the stug iv?

I'm getting closer now and really enjoying the grind.

also is it correct that you only need to complete 4 of the classes to complete it? I've not been grinding arty as I get a bit bored playing it.

Yep, four classes are enough. You have to complete the final mission in each category with honors though! Enjoy your reward tank. :)

It took about 14,000 battles. I don't pay attention to the missions, if I finish one hurrah, if not I couldn't care less, and I hardly ever play arty so I'd done them all except the arty a long time ago. Fortunately the arty missions were completed very quickly when I decided I needed the final female crew member. I played the Stug IV about three or four times before parking it.

Yes, that is if you do 4 of them with honors. As in doing the last mission for each class with secondaries. So if you can't get all 4 with honors. Then doing 5 without honors will get you one to. As you need 20 to get the tank. And you get 4 tokens for ding the main objective, and 1 for doing the secondary.

You can do this on an "as and when" basis. The objectives are mostly easy enough but some do require some adaptation in gameplay to complete them more easily. One of the missions required certain objectives and to REMAIN UNSPOTTED during the match. The easiest way to do this was to complete the objective and then suicide: which many did. I might even have done it :hiding:

Considering the number of total tools I have seen with the StuG IV, it can't be too hard.

The tank isn't why you want to do the missions: it is the consumables (use or sell of silver), silver and the female crew members you earn in the progress. Most missions just get completed over time without doing anything special - much more relaxed to forget them and occasionally get the nice surprise of having completed one.

The Stug4 missions depend much, much more on having high tier tanks than skill - while taking a good game on tier 5/6 many just require a "didn't completely fail" on tier 9/10.

While i very much agree that playing arty is boring it is also the by far easiest bunch of missions for the later tanks: all of them well doable on a proper map, no [edited]"i need dream MM to even have a chance"-missions like "spot and damage all 3 artys" that you need 100s of battles to simply get a chance to complete.

Wow thanks for the quick replies, yes I'm quite excited about getting some female crew members.

can you assign them to any nation or are they locked to whichever nation of tank you use?

They can be assigned to any nation but once assigned, are assigned to that nation permanently. You choose when you accept the reward, so if you are not sure where you want them you can simply hold off on accepting the reward.

You should consider the arty missions though. They are actually pretty easy since the arty revisions and it gives one more crew member than doing the honours route.

I think I took about 8000 battles to get it, but I didn't really focus on any missions, if you just play they happen. I even did the 3k (or 4k?) td one in my Hellcat while just playing.

The Stug IV is an utterly useless tank, slow and crap penetration. All the other rewards are great though, especially the female crew now that they also combine with brothers in arms.

Don't remember. I had played, at least, over 15k battles before they came.

I guess it took around 500 battles for the StuG IV. (4 sets, F-word clickers)

I got the stug, t 28 htc and i am one mission away from the t 55a (need either TD-15 with honors or HT-15) don't have neither a good high tier HT yet, nor a TD.

It took me around 9000 games until i got the stug, another 3 k i'sh until the t 28 htc, and i will need a few more k games to get the T55a because i need to grind   to some tier 9's/10's.

Always better to finish all 5 mission sets, not only for the extra credit rewards but also for the extra crew member.

Remember you can always come back and recomplete missions at any time to gain the rewards though.

No way would I play arty to complete all missions. I already have a StugIIIG which looks pretty identical but with a much better gun. I already have 3 German TD crews with 1 to 3 skills. I can live with the 5th crew member being male then I can blame my failures on sexual tension within the crew. I accept that the PMT excuse would then have less validity (runs for cover from incoming barrage of feminist outrage).

Better question would be - how many battles have people played in Stug 4 after they have unlocked it ;-)

The tank is crapwith no pen forcing you to use gold if you want to deal dmg.

I would say it is a downgrade from Stug 3g

Just get it after 3k battles, instant sold (It's a bad tank inferior to regular Stug)
You need some tanks to do first set of missions:
1. SU-100, SU-152 or any Tier 8 td
2. OI or O-Ni heavys
3. M44 arty
4. Any T6 + lights
5. Any T6 + mediums
This is the easy way to done it!

Despite decent damage on a par with other tier Vs (although most of my TDs are much better) I just can't win. 80.86% MoE. I do use APCR when I think it is necessary- I carry 15 rounds compared to a more usual 5-, but it is the low shell velocity and missing moving targets which I find more annoying. It isn't as though the crew can take some of the blame. I share the four-person female crew with the E25 and Rhm Borsig WT. They are on FOURTH extended skill (including the default Sisterhood of Steel)

The StuG III G, just for comparison. This crew doesn't even have second perk complete yet.

88.6% MoE

1

played 1 battle to check if it is indeed as bad, got yolo-ed by a proper tank and sold the POS right away. I don't care about it having PMM - that doesn't help a tank that has absolutely nothing: no mobility, no turret, no usefull gun, no armour. I rather play any tier 5 med in a tier 7 battle than be toptier in such a POS.

the T28HTC fares little better: i didn't sell it yet becouse there might be the option to trade in for it's gold value in some special, but I don't see a reason to drive it either.
