Just been replying to another post and described some of my decisions, actions as Pants on Head moments as Jingles would say.

You know the time you decide to go and take out that low health Red only to find he has 2 unspotted full health mates consoling him....

Or the head says one thing but the fingers decide they know best....

Have u ever had these moments, they can be quite amusing when u look back on it from the garage.....

Apart from the obvious "Well, that's not what should have happened..."-moments, I have those pants-on-head-moments in pretty much every match, e.g. when I decide to provide teamplay only to find out that neither bad players nor players with good stats are able to do the same...

yes far too often to remember.

Worst ones are end game, you're last alive and enemy closing in. You spot a way out past an enemy tank which is a one shot. You go for it, right decision. You come screaming round the corner, donk the shot, and then accidentally ram the enemy and die.

my pants on head moments usualy revolve around forgetting the team will play for themselves +not as a team

so any action I do, I will have zero support, even if I'm going to help a player, they will sit like a lump of dung

Same. Even when I make a decision to help teammates (like Heavies trading shots around some rock with enemy Heavies), and I even tell them in chat I will be flanking in my LT to distract them and for them to move up...they dont. I flank, get 1-2 shots in "up the @$$", enemy turns around and I get vaporised (first shot usually tracking me of course), while my teammates still sit around corner with a thumb up their ...

While i agree wholeheartedly with all the above, my personal repeat-offending act of blatant stupidity (and the most tragic part is, I really DO know better!)

is staying out for the second shot, hoping to out-reload the Red in front of me, when he is already traversing to face me...

It's a phenomenon equivalent to "Buck Fever" in hunters, or "Range Fixation" in ground-attack pilots - this is where they drop a bomb on the range, and are concentrating so hard on watching where they hit, that they end up following it in...

Still happens, very occaisionally...

Regularly on Ensk. The battle would be unfolding and even though experience tells me not to go forwards into those buildings or up between the trains I go and do it anyway.. and get wrecked. This is not a surprise, I knew that would most likely happen but for some reason and against even my own will, the middle finger of my left hand both presses that W key and flips me off in doing so.

This weekend. In a light tank. Enemy team is pretty much all spotted so I make a dash for their arties ( he he he ) ...  BOOM. There was a full health maus camping in base. Got sent right back to garage. :)

In the Bromwell on Live Oaks, south spawn.

Go to the ''medium side''. Camp snipe a bit at the start, netting a quick 707 damage. This looks like it is going to be a productive game. Decide that the enemy tanks on that flank are now all within one or two shots and so I decide to cross left over the train tracks, run along the embankment then cross back over to the right in to the enemy rear and finish them off while trading a bit of HP. Only to discover a full HP AT-7 and farty in the bushes. I try and run away back over the tracks and to safety on the reverse side. The AT-7 gets 2 quick shots in, the farty tracks and stuns me for 383 damage and one of the tanks I wanted to kill strolls over and finishes me off. GG WP.

Actually, thinking about it, I have a second favourite pair of these pants...

I pull them on (Almost invariably on Erlenberg Assault) when my team Lemming-trains off to one flank, (invariably the West flank, behind the castle). I, Fool that I am, know full well that the defending team will send a force down the valley on the Eastern side, and I (generally in a med) go to try and at least spot, perhaps even slow down, this probing force. As it's inevitably at least three fast mediums (usually autoloaders), I get off maybe two shots before dying pointlessly, usually too cross to stay and watch the inevitable collapse when the flanking force finds itself behind my allies...

Conversely, when defending Erlenberg Assault, when I (regardless of what I'm driving, but usualy a Heavy or Med) head off to defend the brawling spot at the NW corner, only to glance around and find ALL my teams' HTs have f***ed off to about A9, to defend the valley... The (equally predestined) result is that the Red team will send all thier heavies where they're "supposed" to go, and I find that a Centurion can't hold off five Premium heavies and a Skorpion all alone...

The moral? Experience and the common sense of, say, the average chicken, are no match for a team of bottom-feeding crayon-eaters*...

Oh, and at least on Erlenberg - Follow the Lemmings, don't try to make up for thier collective shortcomings...

Edit: credit to Enforcer1975 for the expression "Crayon Eaters" - made me spit my tea out this afternoon!:teethhappy:

My most memorable moment has to be finding a lone arty on Port in my T-50-2. This has to be easy and I can almost smell the panic of the arty player. So let's just quickly get behind them and finish them off. Oh, I seem to have misjudged that somewhat and ended up in the port.

Oh and there was also where it was looking a bit desperate so I thought best to try a cap to distract them. Why wasn't the timer activated, was this a bug or was I trying to cap my own base.

Mate - at least you weren't trying to cap on the spawn points on an Assault map (No, I didn't, but we've both seen it!) :amazed:
