When a player gets gifted free premium time, it would be very much appreciated if WG allowed the player to activate the Premium time, instead of it automatically engaging.

Yes, it costs literally €1.1 to activate a day whenever you please.

As far as WG is concerned, that could very easily be exploited(I 've actually thought of it multiple times):

  • You tell a friend of yours to buy you prem. account(preferably during discount offers)
  • Store it for future use
  • Profit(NOT for WG)

It's FREE Premium time when missions etc are accomplished.

Oh, sry, I failed on that one, although imo you should try to re-term it in your OP, perhaps something like "premium time given by events/missions/codes etc"

To be completely honest, I don't. Just give it an expiry time of a week or something. The main idea is that people experience how much nicer it is to have premium time and buy more.

The reason is that there is no money in it for WG.  If you can't use it you're more likely to buy it when you do want some.  If you can use it you might like it enough to buy more premium time  in the future.

Every time someone asks for this or for premium time to run only while they are actually playing someone like me points out the bottom line.  The game exists to make WG profit.

No crapsherlock... that's why I said, give it a short expiry date, like a week. I understand they don't want you to bank your free premium day to use at your leisure, but by letting people choose their day in a short window people might experience it even better and be more likely to buy more...

So you want them to effectively make a day's premium a week's premium?

God luck with that Watson.

No I mean you get a free 24h premium "reserve" that you can activate once and expires after a week when not used...

Which is pretty much the same thing to someone who doesn't play every day.

Once again, what you are asking for doesn't increase WG's income.

How is it pretty much the same thing? It is still 24h premium in one go, it's just you can now choose a point in time within 7 days to activate it...

I've amended my post just before you replied.  I realised you'd need more explanation.

I think it might, instead of first playing god knows how long to get a mission done and then immediately start the 24h premium the player can start his doubles with premium time, gets a metric ton of xp and see how crazy good premium actually is in a better setting, which might help WG sell more... Get them hooked, they'll buy, the more you convince them it's actually worth it, the quicker they'll be hooked... User experience helps sell stuff...

The trick is to time the completion of the mission to suit your needs.

Now you're just being stubborn to get your way without addressing the arguments... Well done.

I don't have a way I want.  I'm trying to explain why you can't have what you want.  You seem to think I think it is my decision whether you get it or not.  Well it isn't.

You need to come up with an alternative that increases money to WG.  Your ideas don't do that.  You will therefore fail.

So, I'll be moving on now, as I want to use my premium time.  I only have 567 days left...

WoT Blitz has a pretty neat way of dealing with this - they award players Tokens, and once you accumulate enough of them, you can activate Premium Time. It's smaller amount of course, but it's pretty neat way of doing it. Basically 20 tokens of the same type, grant you an hour, 9 hours or 24 hours of Premium Time. Depending on what sort of "missions" you accomplish thruout the day, at least one of them awards you some tokens of one of the 3 types. You "farm" enough days, you get a little bit of boost to activate, whenever you feel like activating it. I think I have something like 40 1-hour tokens, about 16 9-hour tokens and 20 24-hour tokens stashed up on my Blitz account. Haven't logged in it for about 3 months now and they are still there, ready for me to use at my disposal whenever I'd like.

Would be cool if WoT PC figure out a similar system. In the rare cases it awards free premium days that is. Like in the instance of Obj. 260 mission completion or on events like Gamescon.
