I have some extra gold and would like to purchase a tier 8 premium for making money. I thought it would be good to make a nice poll that we all can refer to!

The main criterias are:

- income (net profit)

- speed (slow tanks don't perform as well)

- carry potential, always nice to be able to affect the outcome of the game

I have studied the forums and the internet extensively, however, it seems a lot of old fan favourites, like the FCM-50t are no longer as good as they used to due to match-making changes and new (OP) tanks. Please take these new changes into consideration!

A poll has been added which includes all tier 8 premium tanks that can be bought in-game, vote for the one you think fulfills the important criterias the best (net income, speed, carry potential).

You may also add free text to justify your opinion!

If you have clan, you basically ask what your caller wouldn't mind in his setup.

For me personally, grinding credits in randoms is nightmare.

Tier 8 is pretty miserable at the moment imo due to sucky MM that makes being top tier rare. If I was buying a premium now it'd be that tier 7 td, the SU 122 44, ok I only averages 10k credits but at least you wouldn't be stuck bottom tier every game.

The tier 8 premium tanks I enjoy playing most are the 112 because of the pref MM and the Lowe because it has the type of gun that is workable against most tier 9s and 10s.

The French M4 Ravioli is still pretty decent if you play it like a Med/TD Hybrid. Not really a carry tank though, it likes to be at range as it has no armor. If you prefer armor, the Löwe ist a better deal, but then you have to do without mobility. Also it's about 50% more expensive.

The two tanks out of these I enjoy the most atm are the Ravioli and the T34-3 (yeah, I know I seem to be alone with that opinion).

Having 400 alpha on a mobile plattform seems to be the only viable strategy to make at T8 medium work these days. Out of these, the 34-3 is probably even better at carrying games, while the Ravioli almost always needs some kind of support. The M4 however probably has the best credit earning ability while also being quite cheap.

Third option would be the Löwe, since you can't go wrong with it, since it was buffed. Its speed is pretty damn terrible but it makes up for that with probably the 2nd best armor on t8 (Defender says hello) and a gun which the only downside of is the below avg dpm. Other than that, is has very good carry potential in the current meta and is imo the strongest T8 premium, when it comes to hulldown fighting. Also the income is very good, since you won't need premium ammo, except for some tanks like Type 4/5 and Maus/E100.

Lowe. I know you don't like low speed but it has great accurate gun with low bloom, good pen, with prem pen that will allow you to damage t10 heavies, cheap shells, great gun dep and turret and good sides for sidescraping.

I traded JagdTiger 88 in for STA-2 and hell yeah, trade of the year. No armor, but decent pen (212), mobility and gun depression. Can carry games, if you manage to keep distance.

For actually having fun: sta-2, revalorise

For pure profit: strv, lowe

For feeling like youre useful and can actually win games: lowe

After they get buffed t54 prot and fv4202 will also be good options along with sta and rev in terms of enjoyability and at the same time not being completely useless (in terms of ability to win games in this meta), possibly even t34-3, if it gets to play against t6-7 tonks after people start playing t10s due to the coming changes to bonds/ranked/30v30)

Jt8.8 is no longer purchasable,  is the best or at least top 3 credit makers in the game, got an indirect buff with arty nerf and is getting directly buffed next patch... (prolly wed)  and you traded it for a Japanese medium crew trainer......

It's still crapbecause it has low alpha, craparmor, crapspeed, not enough pen to contest the armor creeped heavies and NO turret. It was the best credit maker 4 years ago. Now it only works for bad players.

Löwe hands down: it has view-range, good turret, gun depression, usable frontal armour. The alpha and dpm are a bit lacking, but at least it can perform in any MM on any map - not like the Strv (needs open fiering ranges) or the CDC (needs room to flank AND cannot handle T10-armour-monsters).

JT88pays for the silver it earn with winrate and fun: the gun by now is trash (even struggels to pen other tier 8s frontally while no speed and no turrent make flanking hard). There is nothing i like to see more in the enemy team that JT88s: low threat, easy to farm.

Better armour then the tier 9 JagdTiger, more then enough pen with standard rounds for the tier 8 and 9s it meets.. With its pref mm.

Thanks for all the answers so far, it seems as if Löwe and M4A1 Revalorisé are favourites currently.

I am surprised to see and read this much love for the Löwe (pun intended), it is so slow that it should quite commonly be placed in the wrong side of the map with very little to do.

Meanwhile the Revalorisé is faster, has cheaper shell cost so should perform better on the income scale.

What are your average brutto&net incomes for tanks, and are you running a premium account or not?

None since T8 always sees T10. Wait till they put the defender for gold....

I agree, though of course the Defender won't be sold for gold in any foreseeable future. If it's too strong to be sold in the premium shop, it sure as hell won't reach the tech tree.

Spoiler

While I like the M4A1 and Löwe a lot, the latter is clearly better at things that actually matter.
The Löwe is fast enough to get things done, and has very good staying power in good positions. The Revolvér does not - and even with the great gun it can be a challenging tank to play - in particular in T10. It's not that fast either, even if the speed is plenty for its role. Oh, and arties will shoot you. A lot. Furthermore, it has 34mm less penetration and (I believe) less normalization than the Löwe's AP rounds. Being able to actually aim your shots is a big pro as well. If you try to stay exposed in the Rev., expect a shot in return - which often leaves you without commander and gunner.

The shell cost is arguably somewhat irrelevant unless you're in the habit of missing a lot of shots. Not all tanks have the same income, it's merely a balancing parameter. Löwe is rather good nevertheless, it earns a lot of credits fighting where it should be - at the frontlines. Long-range support does not earn as much.

You can check VBaddict for net and gross credit gain, getting data from only a few players would make little sense. Pretty sure the Löwe makes way more credits on my account, though it makes no sense to pick through replays for examples - credit gain depends a lot on what tanks you shoot, what range, if you spot them yourself, assist/spotting damage and whatnot. You can use wotreplays.eu for that, and filter for each tank.

Needs to be in tech tree for gold.

Lowe gets my vote, it's not a Defender but good gun that can deal with being bottom tier and solid armor, overall it's the most competitive choice given the state of match making.

S1 is also a strong tank but siege mode is tricky and some people really hate playing the S-tanks, if considering this tank make sure to try siege mode vehicles on test server.
