I know it is a good tank on paper, but it looks just so underwhelming at Tier 8, basically a turbocharged T-34 with a funny needle gun. I derive no aesthetic pleasure from driving it and I will have to drive it a lot because it leads to two tanks and I want to get them both eventually. I loved the LTG that preceded it, but this one is just meh. I desperately need external motivation from fellow-forumites.

First you gotta learn to love yourself man. Which I seem to remember from some old song is the hardest part.

The but.t armor is epic, i've bounced countless shells when running away... Also it's one of the most mobile tanks in WoT, basically you can run around like a headless chicken relatively safely. I'm not sure about the DPM now that it's been upped to T8, it used to be very good...

I would hurry on the T-54 grind, doesn't look like that link is gonna stay there much longer.

Those T-71 changes and the fact one of the links won't remain after the change.

although I have 3 marked LTTB I instantly sold it, .... however

Vstabs, Optics , Vents.  I know dropping rammer will surprise many but the extra view range a real bonus and better gun handling enabled me to manage to range and snipe when I needed to do damage when on losing games, really helped me turn a few games around.  Also of course you get slight benefits to your camo, and other crew skills

Crew skills were BIA, then view range, smooth ride and snap shot, which I dropped for designated target and retrained again.

After LTG its camo not great, but its speed enables you to manage the distance and get out of trouble fast.  Its armour can bounce really nicely and pleasantly surprisingly, especially 90mm and lower guns if you angle well

It is not stable, I fell over a few times turning on a slope and seems the tracks can dig in and keep you turning a bit longer than you might want, I don't think that was lag as in other games same nights no issues.

So for me I played it as a spotter first, used its speed to get in and kill stragglers and like wise the speed to manage distance and kill/snipe as required.  The speed the key

Also try you tube and watch Ilyared, he is really good and informative

hope that helps

I hear you with the LTTB. I just simply couldn't get on at all with it mainly because of its looks it seem like an  kind of ugly, fat, facsimile of the tier 5   T50

I had no "romance" with this tank .Even though it plays well its so boring to look at the thought of playing, like 1 million  battles to get the hideously ugly  T54lwt or the tier  9 medium T54 which had also has out of proportion/scale/weird looks....check out the overhang on those mudguards....ewwww.  I felt  totally uninspired to go further up the line.

It just made me give up and go back to the LTG which i liked so much due to its quirky looks rarity and good turret armor. I use mine like a point blank city brawler.

i admire you if you can grit your teeth through this one as the tier 10's look gorgeous

I know I'm totally shallow but i just cannot play ugly tanks for that many battles regardless of how well they play.:harp:

To quote Oscar Wilde

“It is only shallow people who do not judge by appearances. The true mystery of the world is the visible, not the invisible....”

This tank brought me mission 15 with honors and mastery 1 in its 2nd or 3d battle, thus being stock. my crew from ltg has a max view range in lttb since day 1. its light and powerful enough for climbing - im clumsy yet but 1 redshire round of goating was fabulous. its stable enough so that despite numerous barrel rolls ive never found meself flipped and crying.

Must admit, I never really got on with the LTTB either. That gun depression...*shudder*

Not sure when you last played it but that was buffed with the changes to lights.

Before 9.18, so that may well have improved. Think it had 3 degrees when I was playing it, which was painful.

There was shutting the family jewels in a door painful and then there was the LTTB.

Nothing motivating to be said about that tank. Trollish armor sometimes, quick acceleration and fairly decent gun. Everything else is painfully bad.
Still have my highest exp game ever in that tank though... with no crew skills at the time as well. Quite ironic for the LT I hated the most while grinding.

Cobra6 up above featured that game a long long time ago but the tank may be a bit different now as the tiers have switched around.
6k dmg, 4k spotting and 6 kills in (then T7) LT.

Some of those links look like they were put in to help with XP trapped after the Tier 10 light tank changes.  It looks like they're removing the link links on the American line:

https://thearmoredpatrol.com/2017/08/18/supertest-american-lt-line-changes/ so maybe they'll do the same on the others.

Back when it was at Tier VII I spotted in 7.5k in a Tier IX game.  Best spotting I ever managed.  Got me LT-14 for the T-28 HTC and then some.   Mine is pimped out for view range with a crew on four skills.  I'm reckless in it though.
