This thing makes the T-34-3 look like a bicycle with flat tiers and a broken chain.

You can throw the not so special mm out the window and seriously buff it.

Tier: MT-8, USRR, premium
Health: 1 350
Engine power: 400 HP
Weight: 28 t
Max. weight: 30 t
Power-to-weight: 14,29 HP/t
Max. speed forward/backwards: 50/-20 km/h
Traverse speed: 46,94 °/s
Turret traverse speed: 36,5 °/s
Terrain resistance: 0,671 / 0,767 / 1,534
View range: 370 m
Signal range: 730 m

Hull armor: 100 / 45 / 45
Turret armor: 210 / 180 / 45

Gun: 122 mm D-25TS

Damage: 390 / 390 / 530
Penetration: 212 / 248 / 61
Fire rate: 4,47
DPM: 1 743
Reload speed: 13,42 s
Accuracy: 0,316
Aim time: 2,21 s
Gun depression/elevation: -6 / +17

Also it's flat as a pancakes and probably hard to hit.

What I find so utterly hilarious is how yet another 122 mm D-25 clone (the D-25TS has the same characteristics, just a different mount) now gets a 0,316 accuracy and 2,21 s aim time with that 390 average damage. Compare that to the Tier VIII mediums we have in game, and it becomes clear the balance department has lost any touch with reality. It's nothing short of disgusting, even if the soft stats on this 'thing' will ruin its playability (which seems doubtful as it's a Soviet tank after all, and more importantly perhaps a premium tank).

The gun accuracy and aim time inflation / power creep is real.

I don't think the players of this game wants new premium tanks every month that are just better then a majority of same tiered tanks.

If you want to compare it with anything, at least try to be half-serious and compare it to the Obj 416, which is the closest thing to it, in play style and model.

You can even use the in-game compare feature, it's already there.

Compared to T-44 with 122mm gun and 100 mm gun and T-34-3.

It has: Best accuracy! Much better Aimtime then the other 2 122mm gun (0.6 better) and 0.4 worse then the 100mm gun.

Gunhandling is 0.04 worse when moving and same on turret traverse.

So it has superior gunhandling compared to the other 2 122mm guns. And a bit worse then the 100mm gun of the T-44.

Pen is better.
Dpm is on the low side, slightly worse then T-34-3 a bit better then T-44 with 122mm. And 250 worse then T-44 with 100mm.

Mobility, better then T-34-3, similar to T-44 (much better ground resistance, but 5 less hp/t.

Better turret armour. T-44 has been 190mm flat in next patch.
T-34-3 have effective 220+ armour on turret. STG only have 200-220 on turret. So turret is worse then T-34-3 turret.

Hull armour, 100mm. So should be easy to pen. It also have a 30mm engine deck which is easy to hit if on even ground (and easy overmatch).

Viewrange 370  (worst in class).

All in all.

It has better gun then T-34-3 and T-44 with 122mm. Maybe slightly worse then T-44 100mm gun.
But armour is worse then both of these 2 tanks.
Mobility is better then T-34-3, on par with T-44 (I guess).

So, all in all, not OP.

Compare it with the 416 and its just a worse tank, less dpm, less prem pen, worse gun handling etc, the armour isnt even much better.
In the current meta this wont be op and extremely awkward to play.

And I would still take the T-34-3 over that. Even with the worse pen.

Because why would I want to buy a worse 416? I'll rather train crews in my Matilda IV then stick to this. I suspect it's not even gonna be a good income machine.

But as long as people remain to be weak-willed and spend money on every new premium, that is what we are going to get until eternity.

Help WoT and don't spend money on new T8 premiums, if you do you are just perpetuating the problem and making the situation worse for everyone. If you want to spend money, spend it on a premium account.

It's bad, don't get why people are making a fuss about it, did any of you compare the M4 Rev with the T-44 with the 122 cos that is no comparison either but it doesn't suddenly make the M4 Rev OP. The buffed T-44!is clearly better than this thing, the 416 is clearly bettter than this thing and the T-34-3 when it gets the Type 59 armour lay out is going to be clearly bettter than this thing.

The armoyr our is not good at all, go look at it, half the tank is covered in overmatchable plates.

This thing overall is fine for me, it's not just another 240 alpha tier 8 med, it has no obscene characteristics and isn't a clone, seems a fine candidate for a premium. Also comes in camp and non-camp versions.

It's another frying pan, and you can't even fry pancakes in it; so why would you want it?

Mobility is nothing special, armour is trash, handling is trash, all it has going for it is alpha and dispersion.

So I thought I would check and see if the OP had played the Object 416 or the line of tanks leading to it or past it, to see what he was basing his judgement on;

Tank-----Average dam-----win rate

T44  =  787  ----------------- 48%

T 43 = 649 -------------------47%

A43 =never owned

A44 = never owned

Object 416 = never owned

Object 430 II = never owned

So the OP thinks the STG Gard is going to be OP when he has never played any of the rear turreted USSR mediums. He has no idea how they play, how awkward the rear turret can be, how the slightest bump, rock or undulation will cause them difficulties, or what happens when you play with a pancake frying pan turret.

The Object 416 is a very good tank in the right hands. Perhaps the best tier VIII medium in the game. But it has a very high skill ceiling, and the vast majority of players will do pretty poorly in it. Since the STG Gard is essentially a nerfed Object 416, I would suggest it is far from OP because only skilled players will make it work.
