When do we get smoke rounds for tanks and arty?

Why have smoke ammunition never been introduced to tanks and arty, quite sure it was promised for arty when they came out, so why have it not been implemented?

There are already 15 smoke rounds per team: your tank gets killed, it smokes.

Smoke could be really helpful and give more tactical depth to the game though especially when on corridor maps where poking out equals instagibbing.

hopefully never because the game has enough broken stuff as it is without implementing new mechanics

You already have people who load full HE because it ''does more damage'' I can already see the players loading only smoke rounds because it has a larger splash radious.

Introducing smoke effects would cause 80% of Russian computers to go up in smoke, ironically enough. Or do I mean coincidentally? God knows.

I can see the downsides:

Solo players not firing it because it has no XP value to do so.

Competent platoons using it to become even more influential in game.

Abusable by the trolls

Perma-blinding TDs

Increasing the effectiveness of fast tanks because open ground could be covered without sustaining damage.

 

Plus likely a load of other stuff...
