I'm just curious what your guys experience is and what you think.

Should you disable any game modes to benefit 3rd marking, or does it not matter at all.

I have never three marked anything, but I am starting to think the answer might be to play any mode you want, as long as you load nothing but premium. Was fighting some dude yesterday in his jpz e100. 60% WR. Three marks. Firing full gold, judging from comments flying around from the dudes in their tier 9s.

I would disable encounter, since quite a lot of the time people cap early and you grt nod dmg or need to suicide to reset.
Keep assault enabled, when you know what you are doing they can be excellent dmg and spotting farms.

Would be stupid not too, you have a massive reload , all your dmg depends on a couple of opportunities you get, and then not being able to capitise on one of then because rng screws you over is a big risk.

299 pen in a 3 5 7 game should have been more than enough with the tanks we had. He was fighting at close range so no distance drop off... The truly depressing thing was what it said about his pro mindset. He already had the 3 marks after all. And the game wasn't even that close.

gold spam is necessary because even mark hunting is dependent on rng, with gold rounds at-least you'll have the pen rng in your favor.

So if the standard would have been more than enough, why does it affect you in any way? If you can't bounce it in any way or another, why care what they are shooting at you?

Shooting gold only affects tanks with armour.

I've never cared about reaching "3 Marks of Excellence" for my tanks.

The only tanks in this club are only my StuG III G and T29.

But I don't really wanted to get those "3 marks". It's just worked out somehow...

The only disabled mode is "Assault". I hate it.

Just play modes your are comfortable with (doing damage/spotting).
I have 3 marked varius T5-T9 tanks with all modes enabled and very few premium shells.

I've always had all gamemodes enabled while 3 marking tanks.

Never played to get a 3 mark.  The meta to do so is just silly.

All are fine, Assault is even better than standard, while one could argue to disable Encounter as there are plenty of encounters which are either extremly biased or are fastcapped often.

Its quite funny how people who has never 3-marked anything just assumes all they have to do is load gold and use food and the 3-mark will just automatically appear. You really think that its all that it takes?

I can assure that its not.

Depends on the tank really. I've 3-marked lots of tanks with just standard battles, but some tanks are arguably easier to do in encounter/assault. Assault really favors TDs because of obvious reasons and the retarded encounter meta of driving straight into the others' spawn while usually spawning quite close to each other favours slower tanks like the maus.

But then both those game modes can be highly unreliable and the time limit of assault can really [edited]you over as well, so it's mostly preference really. If you're good enough to get 3 marks you're good enough, you can't really game the system that well.

What I find is that leaving Assault and Encounter on will give you more matches on good maps, yes some bad map and/or matchups in them but I would much rather be on Prok/Fs with 3 artys in a superheavy (even my Tog) than in a Light on most of the City/Corridor map choices we get nowadays.

Yeah, maybe encounter is not the best for marking because the early cap. But I have all modes on.
