Why is the Panther M10 medium tank classed as a heavy in mm? It isn't fair to me or my team that I'm classed as s heavy and I'm in direct opposition to a t29   or a Tiger.

Well I've played quite a few games in it and in the mm, my team is nearly always 1 heavy down and it's me against a tier 7 heavy. It's happening far too often to be coincidence, it's happening in at least 50% of the battles I'm in.

That's because for mm problems, HTs and MTs are not balanced as the other 3 classes. Every team have the same ammout of LT, TD and artys, but the number of meds and heavys can change. In extemis, you can have a team of 15 meds versus a team of 15 heavys. Never happened to me. But I should have a screenshot of a 15ht vs 14ht+hellcat battle! :teethhappy:

Happened something like 2-3 years ago...

It's a TD because it looks like it shouldn't have a roof.

It's incognito, it's in disguise, and the mm seems to think it's a heavy.

That shouldn't matter if it is classed as a medium then the mm should treat it as a medium, otherwise class it as a heavy.

The Comet seems to suffer from the same problem, the majority of my battles in it have been against heavy tanks, as the tank in my position on the opposite team,

I have noticed this recently in my M10 as well, could be the messed up match maker, although I remember a thread some years ago saying the Comet did get heavy match making because of 'stuff', which I had no idea about back then so have no chance of recalling now. and as the match maker has been reworked a few times over the years the reasons given may well be complete rubbish now....

Just accept it as WoT quirkyness, or lousy coding, your choice ;)

Haven't noticed it much. Sometimes when platooning, else not so much. Doesn't matter that much in the end.

One reason is probably the lack of T7 mediums - because most of the other T7 meds are pretty terrible. Panther/M10 is arguably one of the best there is - and that's not even counting the special matchmaking.

Don't have a screenshot either, but on the weekend I had a 1HT vs 7HT round, and us with more MTs actually won.

Just went through my replays, as I was pretty sure it was a T25 game on an open map:

Considering Aikls post above, in this case it might have been due to the platoons 3x M4 and 3xHT.

The new MM weights Heavy tank = Medium tank when matching up the games and there aren't enough heavy tanks in the queue.

The current mm does not differentiate between heavies and mediums.

The fact that you always have a heavy on the other team is just bad luck.

Heavies and meds are not balanced by the MM.  This was explained in the article about the new template MM.

The current matchmaker doesnt differentiate between mediums and heavies. Only 4 classes exist in the MM formula.

Heavy/meds, arty, TD and lights.

Someone else might be faster.
