One of the main issues I have with some tanks is dmg coming from the cupola, shooting ap at it I believe should only kill the commander... Whereas shooting HE at it will cause dmg, there are a few tanks and one whole tank line that is ruined and extremely weakened by the cupola dmg, so that's why thoughts what do you think

Only if they add other weakspots to the turret, otherwise, no.

Shooting at cupola with ap kill and/or damage include and is a nice weak spot that must players like to exploit when you hug them or on slow targets.

Shooting at cuppolas is a WoT gimmick that should never have been implemented but even if implemented should never cause more than 1/2 normal shell damage.

Hint: If you have a random idea popping up in your head, it makes sense to waste five seconds of your lifetime thinking about how that idea would impact and change the system you intend to implement your idea into.
That way you can easily find out if the idea is a good or bad one.

That system was soooo popular and intuitive in AW.

It might make sense if cupolas were balanced accordingly, but the degree of vulnerability is virtually completely unrelated to the overall armor of the tank. There are plenty of tanks with medium to light armor that are vulnerable due to particularly high cupolas, particularly when fighting over ridges.

There should be weak spots given the corridor map set up.

I agree they need to be better balanced. You have some weakly armoured tanks with monstrous cupola's that signal the tanks arrival half an hour before they crest the ridge while tanks like the VK100 or whatever it is has a cupola that is questionable whether its a weak spot or not. Its certainly weaker than the rest of the tank but impenetrable for some tanks it meets.

Answer yourself the question, if you remove cupola damage on heavy tanks (in particular) what else you are going to shoot at to damage them if they are hull down for example? You just turn every encounter into a camp fest of 'you sit there and I'll sit here and we'll shoot pointlessly at each other for the whole fifteen minutes'.

Remove the lower plate weakspot while you're at it. German tank players rejoice... oh wait, Defender players rejoice more... crap! PAS!

Wait, i have a better idea: remove all weak-spots and remove normal ammo, since it will became pointless.

Then players would have to chose between ''try hard'' gold ammo, or ''i am a cheap bastard'' HE ammo.

Remove all weakspots. Make tanks all look like the nissan cube.

That other game had 50% damage reduction vs it. And even removed it one patch. It did not go to well with either one of them in the long run.  As again... it forced more to run, as they lacked "alpha" or pen to fight it. And considering most tanks of late have had other weakspots removed, like the MG port etc. It would just make the gold spam harder then it is for most to "tolerate".

AW had 50% damage reduction on the tiniest of pixel weakspots, which were the only weakspots on the entire front of the tank as well. AW was crap.

Maybe there was a correlation and the system WoT has right now isn't all that bad?
