I'd love Province back, for low-tiers.

This is a map, that has taught many of us how to play the game - there were areas, where only well, armored tanks could pass, like the PZ II or the Hotchkiss, there were bushes for TDs, long range combat, there were spots for light tanks to rush and scout. Everything you need to know in this game.

I miss the days of seaclubbing in my T1E6. Mittengard is just the most awful map I've played in a long time, if anything, it should've been twice as big, so that you can actually play TDs.

Also, what the hell was the reason for removing it? It was one of the maps very few people complained about.

I dunno, all it taught me was that it was THE easiest place to murder players that didn't understand about viewrange, spotting and camo.  Seal clubber's paradise.  Camping was far too strong a tactic on that map.

Kemping in base gud?

That's about the only thing it taught players in my opinion.

Horrible map, I'm glad it's gone.

And no, I don't like the replacement, either.

Well, it is rather close to how many maps are designed nowadays - except the TDs can't actually see each other from the camping spots, so risking a spotting run isn't really worth it either.

...come to think about it, Province defines a 'playing style' that many forum users defend - I'd say reintroduce Province without changes, and there'll be a counter for each match you drive less than 1km. Reach five, and you spend five games playing camping Province. Everyone wins! :D

The replacement is worse. Mittengard teaches players that you should yolo.

Only positive is that it teaches players that SPGs and TDs are crap :P

For such a small map, it was always different to play in it. I hate symmetry in maps and Province made me keep a T1 for quite a long time just for the possibility of ending up in there.

Sure, cut back all ridiculously good view range at lower tiers, and I'm all for getting Province back. If not for any other reason then because it was a very beautiful map. The problem was that some vehicles could simply spot the entire opposite side of the valley from a bush near their spawn point, and others didn't have a chance.

Then if you made the area between the valleys bigger, it would be balanced, yes?

No, make the valley a lot more narrow, and create a few bridges... at most 3. Also put up walls, so people cannot shoot at random places, but only near the bridges. A good way to teach them about future maps.

And rename it Providor or Corrince?

Oh I agree that Mittengard teaches nothing of value to new players, other then yolo and doing bad trades. I get the idea WG wanted about increasing the pace on lower tiers. As back in the day, a tier 1 game was 14 min long on Malinovka. But it's not working well. And Province did indeed teach them move valuable lessons. But still was almost as slow paced as Malinovka, and the last 4 tanks could easily spend 8 min finishing the fight. But the map had one flaw....

One tank... Pak 40. Drive 5m forward on the North side, and you had 15 spots instantly, and got 1K assist in a jiffy, and the enemy team was down half their team in less then 30 seconds. As you said... sealcubbing. And that map was the definition of it. You did not need XVM to see who had 20K games or more, bincos and a 4 skilled crew to max view range. Far from the ideal map. But still better then Mittengard. All my best ace games on low tiers are on that map back in the day.
