Lol, IS4 made a Tier 8 tank with the armour it has. What tank at tier 8 could possibly pen it from any angle?

FV4202 used to be the tier 10 UK MT. It was replaced by the Cent AX and balanced to become a tier 8 premium.

See? It has happened before, hardly a shocking idea.

I think you'd have to have pretty poor DPM to balance it out.  It's basically like a double barrel shotgun, but I'd reckon there would be aiming/accuracy penalties firing both barrels at the same time, so firing both it behave like a derp gun basically with really bad accuracy.

Then you could have another option of like a two shot autoloader, where the second shot fired after 1-2 seconds.

(...)

I like it. Sounds interesting. Might be a tad too complex for the one han- I mean 'players who prefer to play the game with only one hand'.

Would actually be decently "realistic" in a sense. Doubt there's space in the turret to reload while the other gun is firing (hence WoT-autoloader mode); the space between the barrels means that firing both will undeniably be less accurate.

And it's so original...

I was not referring to the way to balance the tank, not the idea to put the ST-II into the game which is a very old one.

IS-4 is a handsome tank.

ST-I is nearly as ugly as an M6.

They may do whatever they want, but don't even think about moving that atrocity at tier X, please!

I agree. IS-4 is one of the most fascinating tank for me.

Yeah you're stupid. You can't even understand why having à delay for your gun to shoot would make the tank unplayable.

Every tank has a delay: it's call reload. Even autoloaders have one. Intraclip and for full clip.

In my idea there is no delay for the gun to shoot. Shot one, shot second whenever you want.

The ST-II was planned to have an autoloading mechanism in a way you can shoot with the 2 guns independently.

I know putting an autoloader with 2 shells will do the trick, but since WG put the siege mode into game just for sweden, and since they told "we want every nation has a special feature" i thought about this "2 barrels" idea.

:)

Well we shouldn't not do things because of the lowest common denominator, was trying to think of a way of making it balanced and liked the potential tactical option between a 'big bang' at close range and the more considered 'tap tap' for other work. And yeh I was thinking somewhat realistically that loading the one gun whilst the other is firing would be difficult and that the two guns going off at the same time would interfere with each other.

How to shoot? alwasy WoWs style:
- 1 single click: 1 barrel shooting (one of the two, or the one that is not broken or reloading).
- 1 single click (holding the button): subsequent shooting of the 2 barrels of a fixed amount (taking in account the fact that after the first shot the aim bloom will become wider i don't think this mode will be usefull).
- double click: both gun shooting (if loaded) or shooting the ready gun.

Have you ever played World of Warships? There, multiple turrets have different aiming cirlces and reload. (in my idea, the fact that the guns are "twins" are aiming at the same spot, so same aiming circle, different reload).

Click -> first fire, first reload (23 seconds)

Click -> second fire, second reload (other 23 seconds, while the first gun is still in the process)

in my idea the 2 gun have SEPARATE gun reloading.

Click click -> both fires, both reload (both reload in 23 seconds)

You realize the only way of doing this is having a delay of like 0,5 seconds between the moment you 'click' and the moment the gun fires?

No one would like this and would be a straight retarded mechanic.

No one in this forum have played WoWs? I just took the idea from there. The double click is like 0.1 seconds! there no need for a "delay" between shots

Yes, I have tried World of Warships two times. Tried it again last week actually for the second time but don't really like it.

I'd just make it a two-shot autoloader with an intra-clip reload of 2-3 seconds.

Smarter people than I can work out the clip reload to balance the damage output.

IS-4 shouldnt be tier 8 premium. Just no.

Indeed, it should be a regular tier 8 tank just like it's brother the IS-3, maybe we could have the IS line branch out to the IS-3 and IS-4 then back to the T-10 or something.

I'm pretty sure making it a tier 8 tank would involve balancing the armour to be on par with the IS-3 (which would be historically accurate) and removing the T-10's gun from it.
