random question on tank parts

whats this? the flat wood plank on the upper plate, i cant think of what to call it so i cant google it, my best guess it its for tanks with flat up angled armour to displace water over the sides when traveling though deep water.

you are correct.

is is a mudguard to prevent mud/water/dirt from covering the mirrors / view ports of driver.

on some tanks those are simple wooden planks which can be removed for dual use.
