I demand WG to offer the Defender again so we can take part to clan wars. Thank you.

You probably think this is a joke thread, and to some extent it is, but only to some extent.

My son has 2 marks of excellence on his IS-3 (not even trying) and evening after evening he was attending the clan wars waiting for the leader to pick him up only to be repeatedly benched because he didn't have the Defender.

He's a far better player than the guys who got selected because they had the Defender but unfortunately he didn't have the other premiums required for clan wars either (I remember of the Pilot, Patriot and Scorpion).

Of course he left the clan, they are idiots, but they had several provinces and not many of our mother tongue clans even have a single province.

So, I have this to say to WG:

If you know a tank is so popular that it is often used for clan wars you should either:

1° Nerf it so it isn't better than a real tank

2° Have it on sale permanently.

Thanks for reading!

I would say your son's clan is pretty crappy.

EDIT: D'oh he already left it. Well if your son is good he will have no problem getting into some actually decent clan.

Defender is weak.

Just play TVP VTU.

Sure, he's still at school though, so it doesn't really matter whether he finds a good clan or not, he has to study in the evening, not play video games :)

That's why I said it was somewhat a joke thread; I mostly wanted to emphasize on the absurd tier VIII overpowered premiums.

This is all your fault, as a responsible parent you should have bought a Defender for your kid.

Not having all the cool toys that other kids have can influence his development in life.

You should learn from this, and from now on buy every new premium WG throws at us in every week....

On the serious side: Yeah, tier 8 is completely broken due to the OP premiums.

But instead of asking for Defender again, why you do not ask to make CW playable just with regular tanks?? :sceptic:

A skilled player in an IS-3 will do better than a tomato in a Defender. Only when the player skill is equal there are some advantages to the Defender.

But rather than give everyone a Defender, Wargaming should refund everyone and nerf the Defender to proper levels where it's no longer better than the best T8 HT was before it (IS-3).

It was huge mistake to release the Defender in it's current state and the sooner they fix it, the better.

And because Grand Battles and Ranked are tier 10, we should all get 907 too!  :justwait:

Get a Defender from "hidden store" for 20.000 bonds.

I feel bad for your son for getting the boot due to not having the Defender, but when it comes to randoms, I don't mind Defenders that much anymore.
Since the new MM, the Defenders get shafted too so WG made a mess of tier 8 that actually "fixed" their broken tanks.

Well that sounds good too :)

My daughter just wears Metallica and Slayer t-shirts and has angry look all the time, with little enthusiasm for school. It could be worse though, at least it's not Bieber t-shirts.

It does seem absurd to have a reward based competative battle mode where players can't access the same tanks. Either exclude them from strongholds, or make them available for eveyone.

I just no longer spend money of World of Tanks until they nerf the Defender. Now if everybody does that... :B

Agreed.

The same can be said about the 907 in ranked battles though.

I think that you shouldn't bring your own tanks to competitive play but just be presented with a selection you can choose from.

I suspect that is one of the bigger reason if not the only reason why we did not have a tier 8 "mini" campaign this year.

Such a campaign (last year there were 2 of these) would highlight the pay2win approach WG has recently used to sell their tier 8 premiums in high numbers.

The amount of thread popping up complaining about pay2win in these mini campaigns would be through the roof.

That would work, but reward tanks are really a different kettle of fish

Block Quote

The Object 907 is a Soviet tier 10 premium medium tank.

This tank was available as a reward tank along with the M60, VK 72.01K, and T95E6 for the top 3000 players on the NA server and top 11000 players on the EU server who had gained the most fame points during the 3rd, 4th and 5th Clan Wars Campaigns.

potentially 33k players mite be a bit miffed not being able to play their premium reward tanks in the mode they won them. They could make them available to everyone good enough to play them tho;  i.e. not start selling t10 premiums, but they could have some sort of t10 high skill mission/marathon open to everyone (as opposed to only those who managed to get into a top clan and complete the CW campaign) or something.
