Alright, I just finished a game and  I came across something I am not sure exactly what happened.  Normally I am very comfortable with the vr mechanics but this one I coudltn explain.

http://wotreplays.eu...wz-111_model_5a

So skip forward till I am on the enemy side of the river, then I get shot by a T57 and I do not spot him, the same again happens a bit later.  When I follow the fire direction indicators there is only 1 spot he could be,  next to the house on the hill, but there are no bushes there.

I should have spotted him, I have 449 VR and a T57 doesnt exactly have good camo, did I miss something?

And yes, I took way to many shots from him since I was so startled  by what happened and was sure he couldnt be there.

you have 2 trees between you and this T57 near building...maybe this..

yes, trees without leaves, but i think it work same like normal trees or bushes...arctic vegetation wich works same here like plain vegetation..

i saw things like this before...on trees and bushes like this...without leaves and you think that you can spot through them, but not...works like any other bush

Well, best case scenario for him with no bush type cover involved is he gets spotted within 437m after shooting, assuming he has camo net, camo paint and camo crew. Once a bush is involved that drops a lot, but like you say no bushes around the houses on the line he seems to be shooting. I can only assume the tops of the trees around midway between you and him were somehow acting as bushes, and he was supremely lucky.

edit - what bucifel said :)

where are there trees? I didnt see them. let me rewatch the replay.

EDIT: ah, I see, those trees without leaves? Do those work as bushes??

btw; distance seems to be around 320 metersish.

It's been like this since the introduction of Paris. I've seen it before this patch.

yes...i think those trees works like normal trees and bushes...and he was far enough to use this mechanic for full camo...

probably he didnt even know...but in mostly cases, trees make accidental cover like this for many players :)

you know...when you camp in some bush and want to fire...just go back 15m where that bush is not transparent anymore and can cover your fire

same thing here...same for trees

he was far enough behind those trees and due to this you cant spot him even when he fired. Those trees was exactly between you and him...perfect to cover his fire :)

Shots are coming in from a bit more to your left, not right next to the house (draw a 'line' across the corner where D1 and C0 meet). You can see some bushes and trees there. I'm now also wondering if it's actually possible to take those shots from the C0 hill... I have a T57, if you're willing to test let me know.
