So here's the problem. My crew is horrible (around 80%) but i have GLD-Rammer-Vents and i only have the tracks upgraded.

I can afford to shoot HEAT in large amounts with the 152, but i simply have no opportunity to deal consistent damage, my DPG is pathetic 1000, why?

Well, i can't snipe with it due to terrible accuracy, i can't brawl because even the stupidiest enemy will not drive in front of me, my teammates are not drawing enemies out in the open, and what happens is i usually either do 1 shot and die because i get HP pinata'd or i do 3000 damage and get run over.

Is it really that bad? SU-100 was easy. Am i having bad teams/RNG or is this tank painful to play in general? Should i switch to 122 later and just fire 100% APCR?

The HEAT is also so frustrating against destructibles, a wooden fence is enough to detonate the shell and the enemies use that to their advantage (because even orange players are unicums when they are on the other team....)

And for cherry on top, every single game is open field maps with tier 9, heaven for tier 9 lights...

It's still my fav tier 7 TD. Just load full HE and sit back and hit anything that's spotted. HE has slow shell speed, so go for campers and people that are aiming at other things. And up close just go for the weakest part. Just take the extra hit when aiming for that 40mm weak spot in the middle for 700 damage, vs going for a 300 damage shot from the hip.

SU-152 is an assault gun. Don't waste money on the 122mm. Use the stock 152mm gun with 2/3 HE for hard target, as HT, and 1/3 AP to slam 700 alpha to unarmoured target.

SU-152 was one of my favourite TD. Now I got ISU, but it's not as funny to play as SU.

80% crew might be a reason. 100% crew should massively benefit the SU because of its accuracy.

I think so too. At best it should have 0.46 dispersion and it's like 0.53 now....and the 80% driver + stock engine combo.....ughhhh

Yep Derp gun and HE is the way to go. But even with well trained crew misses are fairly common so let the gun fully aim. Tried premium ammo, if I remember it's got 250mm pen... Number of times it won't pen tho is astounding and using it is a credit black hole.

It can be amusing hitting T9s and causing, sometimes, significant damage.

SU-152, ISU-152, OBJ 704, ALWAYS use the derps with HE, ull get damage with every hit where AP is more likely to just bounce.

I ground the line with a friend, I did the above while he used AP.

I consistently did 1k dpm more than him.

It makes no difference. I have bad player from morning to evening. But you can try to carry in SU-152. As I said it's an assault gun, so you have to cover second line position, just after first line HTs or supporting them from the side.

I would recommend a load-out of mostly HE and around 10 HEAT and then switch between ammo types based on what you are fighting. The 122mm I would not recommend because even with APCR the pen just isn't high enough to deal with a lot of tier 8 and 9 heavies and the SU is not really agile enough to flank.

It's about positioning. Most people who are not completely braindead will indeed not drive in front of that huge gun when they know that you are there. The trick is to be where they do not expect you to be. Hide behind corners, use bushes, and so. Patience is very important when playing these TDs.

It really depends on the map, for city maps try to get into positions where you know your enemies are likely to pass to shoot at your teammates (for example the temple at ruinberg), in essence it is a support platform with a big gun and terrible mobility, on some open maps sniping can work and as others have said avoid the 122mm, the SU-122-44 is a much better platform for it.

One of the most fun TDs in the game.

Full HE, 152mm and derp away.

Literally cried out of anger 10 minutes ago. Never been this mad in my life. I should probably just sell my GPU so i can't play this garbage game and waste my time playing with Edited that i share teams with.

While the derp is the most fun gun and definitely the reason I'll be keeping the tank, the top 122mm is actually worth a try.

It's like 3,150+ dpm at tier VII, with the better gun handling and ok prem rounds when needed - it might suit your play sense more.
