Seeing the patch notes has left me very sad that WG has ignored years of the community begging for this tank on PC. And instead go with some deranged idea that I don't think the community would be much appreciative of. But that's just my view. What do you think?

Glorious!

Would much rather have the Chieftan, obviously.

Especially if they are taking the FV215b away completely - it hasn't been confirmed (as far as I know) that FV215b owners will also get the reward version of that tank as well as the Super Conqueror.

Well most would indeed have it over the new tank. But it's planned to add a 2nd HT line for the Births and add this as a tier X. Same as the French that is also getting a 2nd HT line. And to be fair, they had issues balancing it the first time, thus it was pulled for re-testing. And did appear on live under testing names a while back.  And console showed how broken it was, when they added it as a tier X shortly after. As they more or less just found the broken PC test version and tossed it in. Not played console WOT for ages, but last I checked, it was still not touched. That and the Super Conq fits the line more vs the Chieftain or the current FV. Regardless of how much I want it.

I suspect if they did not. Vs what happened to the 155. 215b owners would go nuts, even if the tank is bad. Then again, we don't know if they are going to buff it. Or leave it as is etc or what happens to it. As the 155 got a massive side armor buff and better gun stats when it got moved as a special reward tank.

I think most people want the Chieftain are sheep that just say it because of others. Like they have clue or personal attachment to any of these vehicles.

Hope they make the Chieftain part of the new personal rewards though. Just to shut people up.

Super Conqueror could be great, if it had more gun depression. 7 degrees feels rather... average. If it had something like -9 degrees it would be awesome and there would be no need to the Chieftain mk.6

There was an official Q&A recently where they confirmed all tier X replacements would be done as they were with the Foch 155.  You can wait for the individual announcement on the EU portal if you want but the rest of us don't like getting our news after it has happened.

As for the Cheiftain.  I don't think it should have ever been suggested for WoT and if it is introduced it should head a medium line since most MBTs in the game are mediums, in fact it would have been a better choice to replace the FV4202.

I don't see what the issue is frankly. It's just a name really. Do you think the Chieftain would be any better than the Centurion?

The Centurion has proved itself superior in many theatres of combat to it's soviet equivalents and yet here, it is generally inferior. So you get a graphic package that resembles the Chieftain. It will still almost certainly perform like a pile of fertilizer so what's the difference?

Just pretend the Super Conqueror is a Chieftain and move on.

I'd rather it wasn't if I'm honest. It will only end up being one of the worst tier 10's in the game and sully the memory of the real thing.

And bloody right we give a crap about it... its iconic to us as the T-54 is to the Russians.   The Brits are finally getting some loving in the game with the changes to the Medium Line, and these tanks were not only British, many nations bought it.

The problem is balancing the Chieftain.

Personally I'm going to see how the proposed line and changes pan out, the Super Conq might be really good.

I lived opposite an army base.  Oddly it had sheep in some of its fields.  These things often drove past my house spewing smoke and noise in a life changing manner (both health and emotional).  I even got to sit in them sometimes.  People like you have no idea what you are talking about.  Many of the people on this forum are English and have interacted with these vehicles.  Hence the clangour.

I would be interested in the Chieftain if its in game performance were representative of the real life version. Which it probably would for first few patches. But then it would inevitably get nerfed. Or powercrept. Which would be annoying. Getting owned by a Type 5, for instance, would be horrific.

Doubt that, would reckon plenty of US players would want it for example, to be honest most people that are tank enthusiasts would want it as it's an iconic tank, it was arguably the best 1st gen MBT, hell I'm pretty sure it's asked about in the Q&As all the time and those are Russian players.

If 99% of players didn't give a crap about it then WG would have given it to us ages ago cos they made it and could have just plonked it in instead of the 215b or just off the Conqueror, the fact they are desperately trying to make a new line to it so they can milk people shows that it's a popular tank and WG want to exploit that.

Plus bar maybe the STB-1, there is not a better looking or cooler looking tank in the game IMO.

It obvioulsy doesn't have the same status as say the T-34, Sherman or Tiger but in the more closed world of tank design it was certainly an important development.

I have seen the developer video and can understand why the are going to insert the super conqueror, however I still think that the chieftain has a place in the PC game. To many UK tank nuts the chieftain is totally iconic, and has been on the wish list ever since the game came out.

I think a good way round the dilemma is for WG to do something similar to the T54 line or the recent addition to the Chinese heavy line, and have two tier ten tanks in the British heavy line. Then they can implement what they want, and keep all of us tank nuts in the UK happy.

If enough people agree then WG might actually take notice.

I think the perfect solution would be for the brit heavy line to have both the Supaconq and the chieftain

Given a choice though and as I have the chieftain on XB I would chose the chieftain based on what the supaconq looks like on paper tbh

Oddly though the chieftain doesn't look very good on paper but it plays well, I think QB did a video about it when it first came out on console

They should replace the FV4202 premium with Chieftain model.  :P

That Chieftain does look nice.

Well it would have been really because the FV4202 is a fake concept tank, with the Chieftain not being one. They probably as you say (now we know the Super Conq) replaces the heavies instead - they could use it to either replace the FV4202 concept tank with it, or even stick it up for sale as the first ever British heavy T8 premium sold. Or create a second line of heavies with it (but I don't think that one will happen).

I like the look of the Chieftain having that oversized turret. And yes, I'm British and this is a very well known tank to us. It should be in the game really. It's like them not putting the Tiger in for the Germans

I would like to point out that the Chieftain on that picture is not the Chieftain we would get ingame.

This one has Stillbrew armour, the one we would get does not and that makes quiet a difference.
