Are these medals something that can be targeted or more situational and just happen when they happen, relying on a hefty dollop of luck, right place at the right time, compliant enemy players, compliant teammates, compliant RNG, personal ability, spamming gold like a mother f.. but lets overlook all those minor insignificant little details for a now, what type of tank or tanks are MOST likely to bag these medals? If you won these medals, what was the tank?

Got my first Pools in the Churchill VII on a loss.

What you need is two bad teams, an enemy that just throws themselves at you and a friendly team who don't kill them before you get a chance.

For kobolanovs it is easy, play a light, turn on assault and wait for that game where your whole team dies but the 5 remaining enemy dont have enough time to cap. You make sure to hide and voila you got the medal. For pools probably a med or autoloader, you need to be able to move around and kill those 1-shot targets of opportunity.

I don't think there are any set tanks that will see them any more, I think its more down to the team composition and your own ability over tank type

I got a kolobanov's in the BDR.. not a great tank, and im not a great driver of it, as I don't play the other modes, only standard battles, this was a nice little medal to achieve for me

ive never had the opportunity to gain a pool's medal

on the subject of other medals:

I got a tarczay's in the V39 (I still remember the game on mines, last tank was an arty, M41, I had a ton of modules broken (this was before the kits could be used twice for any newcomers reading this) and I was down at H/7 there was a rock between it and me, I won in the end... I think that medal is the hardest to get now, because the majority of people will repair their modules and crew...

Mostly situational medals. Got mine in T-150.

Pools in assault in erlenberg. Managed to kill 10 enemy. Unfortunately I baddly estimated cap time, so in the end the game was a lost.

Kolobanov was in ensk. Most of my team died in the field. My few teammate that help on town died a bit later, maybe also because of me not being in my best form up to that point. I engaged 5 enemys near enemy base, knoking out the most dangerous and leaving only a luchs and tier 6 AMX arty. Luckily that luchs wasnt skilled. He caught me from the back, I inclined my back armour but, instead of outmouver me, he emptied his magazine for 0 damage. Killed him and arty.

I would post the replay but it's 3 pach back, so I doubt it will work...

But as you can see, for an avarage player at least, those medals require skill but also luck. If you try to play for them, you will lose a lot of games, especially kolobanov.

For pools I will suggest a fast firing tank. I did it on Chi-To and T-34-85 too IIRC.

For kolobanov I'm not sure. May be an heavily armoured tank is better... don't know...

Got my first Kolobanovs in the T-150 and my first Pools in the LTTB, I only play standard mode. For Kolobanovs I'd turn on assault or play something very well armored, for both I'd play anything which isn't a none turreted TD or arty as well as something that have the ability to carry it self decently.

Pz II J for Kolobanovs definately.

O-I Experimental post-'nerf' is a close second. If that thing is top tier on a city map with the howitzer, it's just indomitable. The worse your team is, the better, and even a Rasinei is doable with the right MM (provided both teams suck hard enough, that is).

Pz. B2 also seems pretty good for Kolobanovs. Once got into a match where the last enemies alive were Pz. 1Cs which can literally not penetrate the B2.

Got my first Kolobanov's in the M3 Lee, great tank confirmed.

Second one in the Hellcat, just ran and abused my camo while resetting the cap on a Sand River defense.

No idea what i got my pools in, probably some pretty crappy match in a low alpha high ROF tank finishing off tanks that were getting murdered anyway.

EDIT: not sure if I've ever gotten a Pool's medal actually, I have a bunch of Radley-Walter's medals on those kind of tanks.

I got 2, first in a SU76 (mucho enemy yoloing one at a time) and the second in a matilda (top tier and enemy team weren't of the greatest quality).  Lower tiers much more likely as you need players not to attack together, and not to know strategies to counter the strengths of your tank.

Lower tiers increases chance by a huge ammount.

Basically you need alot of bad players out in the open that has been "softened" by Your own dying team.

When it happens it just happens, and more often for unicums offcourse.

Skorpion as toptier, in a good mm, certainly at end-stages of battles you can almost one-shot all your opponents. Almost got a Kolobanovs yesterday with 9 kills and only a borsig remaining. Full HP, shot HE at him but then the weifoe disturbed me so i was not just as fast to pull back (something about police raid across the street, pff, who cares).
