Turning off grand battles

just a bad map

 

far too small for a 30x30 game mode

if you take out the areas you cant go you lose about 20% of the map so its actually not really any bigger than prok

a1 position is totally OP and makes the city an auto win from north spawn

map really only has 1 phase of play, you choose one of 3 areas to brawl in, there is no ability to flank, relocate or fall back because too many tanks

not any use for light tanks

I have seen plenty of calls for bigger maps, but never seen a post asking for 30x30

 

in essence WG have done what they always do, listen to the player base and then give them the opposite of what they asked for and given us the middle finger.

 

sort out a1 and give it a 15x15 set up and it would be a great addition to the game, otherwise its pointless

 

if wg want a 30x30 game mode, which I am happy to play make the map 3000x3000 minimum

its not so much problem size of that map, as its design... Its just plan bad as all last maps they realase... Its just camping fest with hull down HTs, camping TDs that will wreck anyone that try to play agresive, and artys that do more DMG than tanks... As soon as you move from spots where you "should be", you are done...

The map is so bad I cannot even... I dont even know where I should start to complain about the map as basically everything this map is showing or offering is plain bad.

Played 3 games in grand battles, turned it off and never again. 30vs30 = higher chance to get blocked/pushed out of cover or team killed by your teammates. I don't need this kind of stuff, it's bad enough at random battles.

The 30vs30 map just shows the core problems of WoT: Older maps have been redone to remove TD shooting lines so the games can actually progress, without active players getting immediately punished by TDs or clickers.

Only reason for me to turn it on is when I start trying to do the 15th missions for 260... oh the pain that waits me...

played one - switched off.

 

I would be interested to know how much of a faliure it is

Must be in the minority as I quite like it. Only problem is rarely get it.

Part of Wargaming charm; everyone who dislikes it, gets it. Anyone who dares to enjoy it, can forget about it.

 

On a general note: I've played it enough on Test Server to know that in its current form it's just bad. Stretched out Mines map with a higher vehicle density meaning that when spotted while peeking you won't get shot by 1 - 3 opponents but 5- 8 is a massive fail.

I'm not alone! The very first time I got it on Test Server th resemblance with Mines instantly appeared in my head.

i like the map size, i like the 30x30.  i dont like the map,  its poorly made with 3 places to go to without any real options  to flank said positions.  it needs so much more cover/houses/hills etc.  

 

oh, and when i play tier 10 i dont get grand battles even when playing 12 battles in tier 10 in a row.

 

how is this supposed to relieve tier 8 mm??  all i get to play against are tier8..
