Fellow tankers!

Today we have some more info from the Super test – we’ll share the details about two new Tier VIII premium light tanks.

In this post we’ll tell more about ELC EVEN 90. This is a really small French Light tank. It’s indeed very small – even smaller than well-known AMX ELC bis. Its armor is also thin – 15/10/10 mm.

It’ll be a mobile “tiny tot”, with specific power of 24 h.p./t with an autoloader gun for 5 shells with a total damage around 1200. The numbers look impressive, but you’ll have to work hard to have them – reloading time, aiming parameters and penetration value will require some certain game skills.

Statistics

Spoiler

Speaking briefly, we’re starting to test a small mobile premium tank with an autoloader gun with good camouflage. Stay tuned to get more details about it.

Aufklärungspanzer V! That’s the name of the next light tank going to the supertest. Most of you might already know this guy – earlier it could be found among the German light tank branch. It was a long time since it was removed from researchable tree and we’re ready to introduce the updated version Aufklärungspanzer V 'Rotfuchs.

It’ll be a huge Light tank with an excellent gun: with good rate of fire, armor penetration and accuracy. You can either play as a sniper due to the excellent aiming and penetration parameters, or you can play as an active scout-damager due to the excellent view range, rate of fire and mobility.

Statistics

Spoiler

Aufklärungspanzer V – is a typical representative of German tank-building school. Strange, big and effective. Will small alpha-damage, but high rate of fire. Want to get to know it better? Stay tuned for more details.

Awfulpanther, my bittersweet love, how I have/have not missed you!

Glad to see it back, either way, it was one of the oddest vehicles in the game and was fun in it's own way.

That still looks like Konisch/Waffe 0725, though, so I imagine the penetration would not have been higher than 160.

I assume whatever gun it uses is based on the quoted 226mm pen at 250 meters for the actual weapon, which is awesome, because that means APCR rounds as standard and NO premium ammo available.

When the light tank changes were announced we saw that you had ruined the ELC its specific power was rubbish and the 90mm gun a joke.

After a lot of complaints you made a few adjustments and released a very poor ELC AMX with several gun options and a full turret if we used the 75mm gun.

But its engine was a pale shadow of its former self and the specific power a joke.

The really sad thing is you had no real need to nerf it all it needed was leaving completely alone and moved up a tier.

A tier 5 tank with -1 +3 mm would become a tier 6 tank with -2 +2 mm

Now we get a super ELC at tier 8 don't get me wrong it looks good but calling it ELC just rubs it in and reminds us what we lost.

Seems designed to be bought by annoyed ex ELC players.

Thank you for giving me an opportunity to whine about the AMX ELC bis nerf ;)

edit

I do like the idea of having the awfullykrappanzer back in the game.

When I tried to play it as a traditional light tank it was rubbish but then we found out that not only was it an amazing ramming tank it was a pretty decent played close in almost brawling with the enemy.

Well, this could be interesting since currently unless you were dumb enough (back when it was released) to pick up a 13 57 (which now was a smart move), you don't have a trainer for your French light crew.

As for the gun handling, don't break it too much because having an autoloader does not warrant the rest of the gun being terrible in terms of balancing, that is not how it works.

If you make it into the old 13 90 in terms of gun handling, it will be a bad tank. Rather give it 4 shells and better gun handling than 5 shells and crap gun-handling.

Also, with that low amount of armour the mobility will have to be exceptional because you need to be able to avoid HE shells. If it has bad mobility the tank will fail.

AAAAAAND it's useless as a French LT crew trainer because it only has two crewmembers, not the same amount as all your other French higher tier lt's. (source) Well done WG, well done! What was the function of a premium tank again? Oh right, to train your crew!

=====

As for the German one, Aweful Panther is always very nice, will be looking forward to the starts.

*HOWEVER*, the Panzer V/IV at tier 5 has a similar gun as well gun (tier for tier) only 3.64s reload base, why 4s on the tier 8?

AAAAAAND the community favourite will be held at ransom instead of put in the premium shop. (source)

Is it just me or is there anyone else who sees "ELC" and thinks "Early Learning Centre" ?

I've spent enough on this game.

The ELC gets tier 7 penetration in a tier 8 tank and the German one gets tier 9 penetration in a tier 8 tank. Keep introducing more tier 8 tanks with tier 9 or even tier 10 penetration, and forget all the other tier 7/8 premiums/non-premiums with their awsome penetration (150 *cof*. 175 *cof*. 190 *cof*). Way to go.

What I really miss are information about the gun dispersion values  and terrain resistance, since this is important to have an opinion about that tank.

The screenshot looks like as it has a much bigger turret with a fat cupola nowdays.

Arguably, it makes more sense that this tank gets a lot more pen than a regular tier 8 light to compensate for its drawbacks, which are size, comparative mobility and camo.

Yes, but giving it a tier 9 medium penetration and in some cases much higher penetration than some tier 9's is somehow stupid when there is a bunch of tier 8's without even 200mm of pen.

But maybe the one of the balancing factors is the alpha, only 135.

How the gun of the "Aufk.P V" looks similar to the gun on the V/IV? This gun really looks like the 7.5/5.5 0725 (konisch) gun with APCR shells only (221mm of penetration). But I hope it will not have the same terrible dispersion values for a Tier8 light tank (0.22, 0.22, 0.16).

Some important infos are missing here: Camo rating, terrain resistance, gun info (moving, tank traverse, turret traverse, after firing).

Tier for tier is what I said, this is an important bit of the sentence.

It's the same low alpha pew pew gun and the trade-off for low alpha is higher RoF and better gun handling. My panzer V/IV does 110 damage per shot on tier 5, this gun does 135 damage per shot on tier 8. So for a marginal damage increase you also get a slower reload which tier for tier does not make much sense. The reload should be the same, 3.65s while the damage per shot is higher on a higher tier.

I guess its because of the good penetration on standard shells (apcr) and the good accuracy based on the known information. We have to wait for the softstats to have a real idea how accuate the gun handling is. 0.3 accuracy and 1.5 aimtime doesnt mean anything when it comes with 0.22 dispersion. When it is that bad I agree and the reload should be lowered, but we have no influence on that yet and can just wait what drops out of the supertest. :)

Someone cares about T8 premiums with your improved MM?...

Repair T8 MM and if you will not screw this vehicles with terrain resistances and/or gun handling, these vehicles will look really nicely ;)

True enough its a second Premium light tank for France and Germany.

Only France Germany and China have  premium Light tanks suitable for crew training after these are added those 3 nations will have 2 each.

Very surprised we don't have an American or Russian Premium Light
