I'm coming to the conclusion I'm just not good enough to compete in ranked battles but at least I'm having a bit of fun trying. I've been up and down between rank one and two three times now. Not only is the player competing against the 15 other players on the enemy team but also against 14 others on your own team just to make it into the top ten. Draws are the real Achilles heal. I've had a couple now and if you are not in the top five on both teams you lose a chevron which makes the progression even more grindy.

I'm gonna try some more games but the current structure means I have to be consistently in the top ten every game. or I will not progress. Compared to last season you had a chance to win a chevron every game now it's only if you win and in the top 10. The struggle is real for the Average player, but I guess ranked isn't really for us common folk :-)

Been doing ok personally. Rank 3 today, will go for four tomorrow for those sweet, sweet credit boosters and then put my feet up and leave the 5+ grind for the mugs :)

Dude, I watched a russian streamer earlier today, a real proper 4k+ WN8 OP player, with over 60k battles played - he went to Rank 4 with 3 chevrons, dropped to Rank 3 with 0 chevrons and then had to climb back up again, with the most ridicilous teams I've ever seen. Usually I watch him coz he is very chilled guy and doesn't go crazy when something bad happens to him (like arty or RNG or w/e), but he lost it few times durring Ranked. That mode forces out the dumbest traits in every WoT player. No one is that bad, as Ranked players are.
I've stopped on Day 2. Not going to bother with it. It's dumber then Historical Battles, Nation vs Nation and Grand Battles. Heck, I'd rather turn back on Assault Mode then play that crap.

This season is a total fail.

At the end of the first season 900 players were in 1'st league, and i think the number in first week was somewhere around 9000.

Now, after just 3 days guess how many players are in 1'st league? 49. 49 players in 1'st league....

Ranked is dead! Congrats WG, you managed to kill it!

WG should put their employees actually play this game. Maybe they will realize how retarded is everything they do lately to this game....

Stop spamming tier 8 premiums WG, and FIX THE GAME !!!

I already quit ranked too. I peaked at rank 3, 5 chevrons yesterday. Dropped back to rank 2 within about half an hour all of a sudden.
Got back to rank 3 just before it closed for the day.

Today I was going to give it a last try. First I lost 6 games in a row because my teams throughout this mode have just been [edited]but I lost 0 chevrons doing so.
Climed up to 4 chevrons after that before I dropped to rank 2 within 20min.
Climbed up to rank 3, 4 chevrons, dropped to rank 2 again.

Quit. 12 hours of grinding well spent. Much fun.

Meanwhile superheavy players are just rolling around without a worry in the world. I got rekt by Type 5s and Maus tanks so many times on these shitty close quarters map.
I'm not a HT player and I don't even own an easymode superheavy.

Most chevrons I managed to gain so far at once is two, then I seem to loose them again. I must admit I like the principle but not the implementation. Personally I feel that the rules used to give chevrons is fine, although annoying when not in the top 10, but a win is a win. When you lose however I feel that only bottom 5 should loose there chevron. The other thing I have not been able to work out is how XP is calculated because when you just look at the detailed part of each players contribution people who you would expect to have more XP haven't. It seems like there is some hidden weighting.

3h played... Rank III reached... 500 bonds for this week, see you next week :]

At start i was thinking about trying to get rank V but 7+9 chevrons to farm for +500 bonds... Yeaaaah naaaa... I prefer doing random and get them slowly ;)

I made an effort in the first season to get into a league - was in gold for a bit then dropped to silver - with a lot of Maus and Type 5 spam - but it wasnt enjoyable - and this is a game, so it should be fun. This time I set a target of just getting to rank 4 for the credit boosters - and as I dont want to waste too many credits I am just spamming regular HE in my CGC and spreading the salt - it feels much better now there are only 2 SPG's per battle as there is less competition for salt farming, plus less idiots countering - though when they do it's good for my team as they seldom hit me, and aren't focussing on my teams tanks, so it's win win all round.  I might play my 907 a bit if I can be bothered - though last season having a 7k damage game in it and only getting a draw really made me salty, so may give it a miss and just keep on dispensing the salt myself, since I am just a dirty old scumbag at heart after all :-) Currentley I am bouncing around rank 3 - hopefully with a good run I can quickly get to rank 4 and then stop caring. The biggest problem with the mode is if you have a bad run you really feel like you shouldn't have bothered - and that is not a good feeling for a game to give it's players...

On the bright side I can say ranked battles become soooo much easier the further this stage continues. Not sure if it's because all the superunicums reach the top and you can just climb easier or if it's luck but... completely different now.

Went for rank 2 to balance fun/effort. Rank 3 seems out my league without frustration. I noticed an excessive amount of IS-7 tanks tho, wonder why.

Played 5 ranked games, all ended in roflstomps where the enemy team just dominated mine so I haven't gotten a single chevron yet. It's pure luck, that's why people are jumping all over the place with their chevrons. The first season was nice because you could still gain chevrons while losing, now it's a waste of time and credits. Even the very best players might only be able to pull off a consistent 55% winrate in this game mode and who wants to torture themselves with that kind of variance?

It's strange though..  what exactly makes these battles so much worse than random full tier X battles? Is it because people who normally never play tier X come out and play ranked?

I don't think the actual game play is any better or worse really. The difference is in how you get chevrons, a player is not only battling the 15 enemy he is also competing within his own team to be in the top 10 and you only get a chevron if you win which make the grind even more difficult compared to last season.

RANKED ARE [edited]!!!!

YOU ARE DEPENDING ON OTHERS NOT ON YOUR PERFORMANCE.

REWARD SHOULD BE ONLY FOR TOP 10 IN WINING TEAM.

Does anyone know the algorithm for experience earned on ranked please. How comes I'm third on damage (out of all 30 players, not only my team) and 13th on experience, after being front line with heavies all the time ( so no camping and sniping) ?
